Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
Pretty much everyone is awful when it comes to technology. There are a few 20 somethings and then 30-50 year olds who know what they're doing but most people are just ridiculous and stupid.
You shouldn't be allowed an Internet connection or a smartphone if you can't understand to use a password and not to download stupid shit. Oh and if you don't know the difference between a monitor, a desktop or a tower you should be allowed to work with computers in any way.

Actually I wouldn't say that's a yes or no answer. It's on a scale.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
Even if you answered no, you could have explained why it's unclear, no matter how confusing the excerpt was...it's a quiz, it wants to know how well you understand the material, not your opinions on things. And, following the pattern of most schoolwork, simple yes or no questions would usually come with "yes or no" or a "y/n" thing afterward with no space to write an answer.
I'm not trying to take away your right to complain about school but you always make expectations seem astronomical when they're not. The people who aced the quiz aren't superhuman.

I find that generally speaking you are required to show your work.
Also I really don't like when people use genitalia as an insult.

As well as others, including the word Garrett used to describe his instructor.

Garret, I thought we had an understanding. You're allowed to use those words that way as long as I'm allowed to say that I don't like it when you use those words that way.

Garrett - if you've got an agreement with Reynard please remember it. I'm not saying don't swear as I'm an advocate for using the full breadth of the English language unsavoury, archaic and otherwise. It is a very strong word and for some unknown reason is still socially unacceptable in most cases.
But opinions are not black and white they're all grey. I've never, not once, not had a criticism of something. Even some of the best things to ever happen to me haven't been without flaw, but that's my view. If I was asked if I enjoyed my honeymoon, I'd say it was great due to the weather, location and the fact to get to my hotel we went through a rainforest and crossed the island by car.
However, if I was asked if the conference I went to last week had value, I'd argue that for me, it had no value due to not teaching me anything new, that I don't want to be sold to and the costs to get there coupled with the loss of a days work and time owed to me due to it being longer than a standard day wasn't good value.
Both could've been answered yes or no, but if I had done that it wouldn't quantify my opinion and therefore would be unmarkable and wouldn't help to provide future judgement.
Rey - please remember that emotions can occassionally people forget agreements in the heat of the moment.
Not only that but your disliked word will appear throughout your life and not everyone will be as appeasing as Garrett.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: QQ moar
if i were a girl i would easily be insulted if my genitals were synonymous with an insult lol
and that's what it comes down to. yeah, reynard will live if garret says cunt. but it makes people uncomfortable, so why say it? you can't think of any other dirty word to use? why would you consciously say stuff that could easily offend a bunch of people? why would you make ItL a place where people don't feel comfortable? especially when you are a mod.

What like dick, knob, cock or bellend? Socially acceptable.
Regardless I do agree that it's best to try and have a comfortable environment for all, especially as we're normally a very happy community.

I don't think its unreasonable to assume that, no.
I do think its unreasonable to be that upset about it. Take a deep breath.

*mutters* My sisters will get into petty fights like this with their boyfriends. :\ I feel the same as Starfe but know from experience that it's not the most ridiculous fight I've ever heard of.
My GOD I am happy I am single.
