Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?

Pretty sure I bricked my 3ds today, right when Pokemon X came in from Amazon.

I put X in, and I went to the e-shop for the update. It said "Plug in your AC adapter and charge it", and wouldn't let me download the update. I plugged it in, closed it, and let it sit for a while. I did leave it on. When I came back, like 20 minutes later, It was off, and it won't turn on. The orange charging light still shows up, but upon hitting the power button, nothing happens. No blue light, no start up, nada. I tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, as well as removing my Game card and SD card, but still nothing. I'm gonna try and contact nintendo later. *sigh*

Talked to Nintendo and it's gonna be around 100 bucks to fix my 3ds,
but since I'm an ambassador (bought it before the price drop) they're gonna give me a discount, which will bring it to 60-70$

jury duty.

the next time I get the summons I'm going to fight like hell against it. That was the biggest fucking waste of my life. I'm all for civic duty and shit and was even interested but when they sat me a room with 100 other people, on hard ass iron fold up chairs, from 8:45 to 11:15ish, broke for lunch until 1:15 and then sat there until 3:30 AND THEN HAD THE NERVE to finally call us and keep us until 6:30 (when the courthouse officially closes at 4:30) I tend to be a little fucking pissed off.

Then they told us to come back at 9:30 and then stick me in a room asking me why I answered such and such on a question. What the fuck? I answered that way because that's my opinion. I didn't realize I had to JUSTIFY my fucking opinion. When did I come on trial? I was so offended when I walked out.

Love America, love the whole court system but there are some MAJOR fucking flaws.

Still haven't been called for jury duty, but apparently if you are a teacher you can very easily defer until the summer, when you're not doing anything anyway.

But yeah, I feel like the jury selection system could get a serious overhaul. Maybe some digital improvements?

Yesterday I was helping my room mate get his truck going, one of the front tires was very flat, and the opposite back tire wasn't touching the (super icy) road. He just wanted to get the truck to the gas station a few blocks away to fill the tire up, so I was helping out by pushing it, and later sitting in the back behind the tire to weigh it down. Keep in mind the ice was melting and so the spinning tire was shooting water everywhere, including through the rusted wheel well which I was sitting behind. So I was getting wet, but that's not the end of the world. I have no problem helping someone out in a jam.

The thing about this that makes me mad was that we had asked our neighbours for an air compressor a few minutes before this, because they have a bunch of construction gear in their yard right now for whatever reason and we thought it was worth it to ask. They said no, so we decided to go to the gas station. Whatever, no problem. Then the lady we talked to sat her kids down by the front window and filmed us for 10+ minutes. I get that "that's just the media-driven society we live in", but that is horribly inconsiderate way to treat your neighbours, not to mention a terrible example for your kids. (Hey kids, don't help out your neighbours, just sit there and record them struggling!) I mean, they didn't have an air compressor, and nothing requires them to offer some other form of help. But if you aren't going to help with a problem, being an onlooker (and filming!) is a really rude thing to do in my opinion. Especially with people you see every day.

I mean, maybe watching others struggle and potentially slip and fall will get you a few likes on Youtube, but is that worth a relationship with your neighbours? Maybe she legitimately didn't know this offended us, but my room mate and I were pretty upset nonetheless. My room mate wanted to go tell her off, but I didn't trust him to keep his cool, especially with kids watching. I think I will talk to her tomorrow now that I have planned out what to say. I don't want this to get blown out of proportion, as the husband is related to our landlord and our landlord doesn't like us anyways. I'm still upset enough about all this to rant about it now, I guess, but I've calmed down at least. I talked with my other neighbour later that night who saw us but was late for his bus route, and he agreed. I don't know, it's just upsetting.

Filming the revolution in Ukraine? That's spectating, but it's showing off the injustices that are happening to a global audience and takes real courage. Spectating your neighbours going through a hard time? That's called being a crappy person. Either help or mind your own business.

Seriously though, after I asked her why she did she said that she thought it automatically saved every five seconds or something and therefore she could close it. Now I know never again to leave my computer unattended. And to make avatars. I'll just wait until somebody makes a good picture of my fortress and steal it or something. Not that that will happen, cause underrated fortress is underrated.

It's not the end of the world, but today I had to bus home from church because my ride wanted to eat out at an expensive place with all my friends. So, $3 bus ticket. I decided to go to a game store because I was spending the ticket anyway and I wanted one more set of dice for my D&D game tomorrow. They stopped selling the small sets and only had the ones with all the extra d6's, and they had marked them up to $10. Whatever, I went all that way so I figured I'd just get them. I skipped breakfast and was getting pretty hungry, and there was nothing to eat for miles around besides an A&W, I got a burger and a water for $7. I went to Safeway and bought an oven pizza, chips and cheese and salsa, and a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper. $20, but somewhat necessary for game night tomorrow. By the time the next bus came, I had to spend another $3 because my ticket had expired. When I finally got home, I found that my dice set had fallen out of a hole in the grocery bag. Fuck.

I should have just gone out for lunch with my friends, could have eaten a fancy fucking steak for all that. I've been trying to save money because I make $80 a week right now until I can find another job and rent is due soon, and I have to pay to apply to art college in the next few days. But today was too much money without me losing the dice, that just upsets me even if it's petty.

Overall my life is fine but today I am kind of upset.
