^ Depends on what you know. Everything can turn out fine, but even the lucky tend to think the experience is quite a change of pace, at the least. And the nature of discipline can make one bad boss a bit more frustrating than a bad civilian boss.

You may die, you may like people who will die, loss of limbs and then there's the entire do as you're told at all times.
I didn't go to University, which is college in the States, but it was a decision that I had to make. I went and worked in a call centre and moved on, but it wasn't easy and I started work about a year before the recession started. The job market is far more competitive now.
If you don't do college, that's fine, but you need to make sure you do it for the right reason. You'll be bored at work, you'll be bored at college and there's crap throughout you're entire life. You just have to make things work.

Death is different every time and the cause of death will be very varied. The Navy may be a very rewarding career, but you need to consider being away from home and the length of service required.
I don't think it's a decision you can rush, besides there's nothing stopping you from finishing college and then doing the navy. Or be cabin crew for an airline, as that gives you travel and being at home.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?
I'm not usually around but I find this conversation important.
1) Most people I know around my age who served in the military came back with substance abuse problems and emotional issues. Though most of them served in combat, so maybe that isn't a fair assessment of these relatively calmer times.
2) Reporting things in the military isn't effective if it will reflect negatively on the military. Much like police misconduct these things are typically handled internally and hushed up pretty good. Sexual and emotional abuse in the military is real, and simply saying "I'll report it" is not an effective ward against it or its effects. Even if reporting abuse goes somewhere and the guilty party is punished severely the effects of abuse are longer lasting than the momentary satisfaction of justice.
3) I was a freshmen in university in 2006. I graduated in 2013. In the intervening period I had a lot of life altering experiences, both good and fucking horrible. The 4 year in-and-out college plan is from days gone by, no one will judge you for not being a full time student. If you find it difficulty to keep up, do what noodles said and take fewer classes until you are more used to the demands.
4) College might not be for everyone, but if I had simply resolved to never go back after I dropped out the first time I wouldn't be where I am now. Your first impression may not be the right one, and honestly it improves drastically after the first 1-2 years are over. If its not for you its not for you, I have plenty of happy, successful friends who did not finish or even attend college, but it does increase your options in life. If you are struggling to figure out what to do with yourself it can never really hurt you to have a bit more education.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?
My life is feeling kinda empty at the moment. I haven't seen any of my friends in a month, and am not likely to see them until my mother and I are completely sure we aren't sick any more. Seeing as I don't exactly have a Wii U Gamepad at the moment, I can hardly play anything there, which gives me a lot less to do. I have no computer (that won't crash if I try to do anything), which takes out even more. All that I can honestly BE excited for (until I get my stuff back) is Senran Kagura 2 and Persona Q, both of which aren't exactly coming out anytime soon. Seriously, all I've been doing the past week is use Youtube on my 3DS and check every once and a while for new Senran Kagura 2 news (Which actually pops up more commonly than one might think). Anyways, everythings just really really depressingly boring. I miss my old life...
(Just so ya'know, I had to write this all on my 3DS, so please excuse me if I made more errors than I usually do...)

sponge, have you tried Ubuntu or Mint? Even if you're booting it from a flash drive or a CD, it's likely to be more stable than a Windows machine (assuming you're on Windows) until you get the time to fix it? Then at least you have easy and stable browsing.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?
I honestly wish my mom would learn a bit about planning things out. So tomorrow there's gonna be a Filipino meeting here at our house, so of course there was going to be some house cleaning involved. It all started after dinner.
Anyway, it was simple in the start, moving some clothes away from the living room, brushing away a shit ton of leaves off the stairs to the basement (why though, is it going to be used? doubt it) and what not.
The worst I had to go through though, was roughly an hour from now, she asked me to come outside to help her clean the heaps of chairs that was undoubtedly going to be used. The thing is, it was around 9 PM, it's getting dark, shit tons of bugs that wants to bite you. What am I wearing? Shorts. So I have tons of bug bites on my legs, along my cheekbones, and I swear to god, I have some on my butt! They don't itch as much as they did when I first got them, but it's not like they're gonna go away anytime soon.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?
It's not fun trying to help clean the house, because all mom does to me is complaining about the way I do it. It's really a case where I want to say to her that if she doesn't like the way I do something, don't ask me to do it. Well, hopefully that will be the last chore I have to do today (except maybe pick up some trash after everyone tonight).

This is just embarrassing. I'm a retention call rep for my own company. We still have time limit on the call. 6mins and get the cx off the phone and the moment they say 'no' we have to stop.
Meh sorry I listened to this and had to rant somewhere about it.

Y'know what I don't understand? How it's been 8 years since my mother died and I STILL haven't processed all of my grief. How much longer is this shit going to take?
