Barring Seniwac, we've done well in being able to handle stuff as a community. I've always liked that.

I sleep with memory foam ear buds in my ears every night and by the time I wake up they are never in my ears. They're plugged into my phone, which is also my alarm, and the alarm still goes through the phone even with headphones plugged in. It works for me.

People often forget that we should be glad that those we care about are unharmed in situations like this. The reality of the financial costs, stresses of repairs and logistics are far easier to think about.
Glad you're OK though

Baaaah, ill. Food intolerances suck.

Heh, the funny thing is I was the opposite with my deer accident.
When I got home everyone was just glad that I was alright while I was raging that my PRECIOUS CAR of ONLY A FEW MONTHS had just been DAMAGED. FOCUS ON THAT!
....Maybe the difference is the person paying the bills? If your dad's the one footing the bill I can relate. Since I was the one stuck with the $500 deductible and it's my car payment and my insurance and MY CAR in every way shape and form it's hard not to care more about the car than the person.
Fucking bambi.
You're right, though, Garrett. Not the best response but when have humans ever acted rationally when suddenly stressed? Especially where money is concerned.

Those times where your head hurts so much that you could puke.
Well, not sure if you've ever experienced that, but I do.
But of course I just got home so I'll check on my ItL lovelies before I enjoy a nap. ♥

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?
Two hours ago I had a serious breakdown, and now I'm already thinking it wasn't such a big deal. By the time I can talk to a professional I'll probably have it completely pushed aside. I doubt I could even properly explain the issue the way I could now.

My mother thinks that rent is a low priority, and I'm the idiot who lets her do paperwork.
Going to have to cut into my savings to fix this one, but for now I'm super kicked out. Found out like four hours ago, took a while to get back online.
On the other hand, my plan to keep important stuff like toothbrushes in bags and never unpack them is vindicated.

Let me be a rolemodel to you, children. Live well within your means. Pay every purchase up front, never spend what you can't afford, never borrow money, and you might end up just like me: In crippling debt.

Re: Rant/Complain Thread: u mad?
I second PLA. Avoid loads. Avoid credit cards. I became an adult during the time of easy credit and now have a ridiculous amount of debt that's slowly being paid away.
Car loans, sensible and OK. Loans so you can go on holiday... Stupid. Loans for furniture, nope. Just save and buy bit by bit.
Also, ignore what others have. You don't know their personal circumstances - trust fund child, inheritances or just faking it. Benchmarking yourself against other people just doesn't work.
