Kinda related but sometimes I get anxious when contacting (usually email though) authority figures to ask for stuff. But again that's mostly email and it's because I get nervous that I come off as unprofessional/ not how I intended and I hate waiting for a reply. Anyway as a result sometimes I just leave emailing them until right before I go to bed, which can be pretty late. Maybe that was the same way? But I don't know him at all soooo
Also, if y'all have Maxine's number, someone better sign her up for Cat Facts immediately or we would let a terrible opportunity go to waste.

@Maxine if that's the case than yeah it sounds like Garrett's general lack of social awareness. :[
Can understand how it would be incredibly annoying... Especially at a time like this.

Yeah, he probably felt he needed to get the question off his chest and hoped it wouldn't wake you, figuring you'd see and respond when you woke up the next day. He used to do the same to me here and there when something was bothering him. I sometimes keep my phone on Do Not Disturb mode and have certain people set as favorites whose messages and calls will be let through. I also have a setting in case someone calls twice within 3 minutes to let it go through. Typically if someone is calling me a second time that soon it is very important. I have one friend who has disturbed my sleep many times because she is up until all hours of the night (often until sunrise), and I'll get 8 messages chiming in a row if she gets really excited about something. @-@; Do Not Disturb mode has saved my sanity.

I do the same thing as Max with my phone, and it seems to be the norm in my circles. My parents use the thing Trif talked about, though.
Hong, that picture made my day. Thank you.
PLA, I'd write the letter. Writing a letter takes what, and hour? If it pays off that's basically free money if you aren't expecting it. Either way, I'm sorry to hear that happened.
Sampson, done.

I have no desire to respond to much of this post creating a back and forth offensive and defensive exchange that can and will only inevitably produce forum drama. So instead I will say this because I mean it:
Garrett, I think you are a wonderful person with a lot of hope and potential. You have to learn to look beyond yourself. I mentioned before that I see a lot of "I"s in your posts. I feel you were a more stable person back two years ago compared to what you are today. There was a reason I made you a moderator - because I saw that potential. I'm not sure what's going on in your life but I wish you the best of luck with it. I will apologize for being so upset over the phone situation and sending you a text that was probably less than what you deserved.
You should endeavor to be the best that you can, not for yourself, but for others. I feel you have that potential. I saw it before. I hope you find it again.
As for the above post. Stop blaming yourself and apologizing. Just learn and be better. I know it's probably lame in some ways but you know what I'm gonna do it. There's a wonderful show that I watch that has a wonderful quote. "Apologizing is a sign of weakness" - NCIS

No. Which is why you shouldn't apologize. Well, just one of the many reasons.

So work has been insane and sapping a lot of my time more than it should. I've got a team of contractors, who are incredible and incredibly expensive who I am loosing in the next couple of weeks and taking on all of their work. I'm pretty much returning to being a one man band for 20k people. It's very disheartening aaand stressful

.

Change is good, mismanaged change is bad.
I totally get where you're coming from though, it's frustrating and that frustration can lead to stress

. It'll get sorted soon enough though.

Lost my partner's 3DS today, and her MH4U along with it.

We're pretty sure, but we can at least mitigate it some since no one here asked for my spare 3DS. Had to buy a new copy of the game, though.
