Don't be afraid to experiment...and if you fail well you can always try again to make it work..
So just try to have fun with it if you can, I know I did when I came up with my Yggdroid HP Cannon and shield combination..xD
My all Yggdroid party was just another result of wanting to experiment..though I don't know yet if it's going to work out for me in post-game I haven't finished my preparations yet..I still need to farm tons of En too..

Well, getting ready to fight the second boss.
Pretty much trying this:
Prince or Gladiator/Buccaneer/Monk
Zodiac/Arbalist
Prince isn't much. He's more the explorer type right now, which is why I might go Gladiator. But my monk isn't much of a healer; right now I'm just getting her Refresh. So I'll probably take a lot of Medicas with me. Buccaneer hasn't been used, but I heard head binding is very useful, so I'll be maxing Hanging. Arbalist is straight up damage. Zodiac will be using Hellfire, but will have max Fire in between uses, and I'm thinking of taking Etheric Charge for it.
Will probably buy Ice and Sleep resist accessories.
Etheric Charge is basically the first skill you should be getting on a Zodiac. Well, after the solitary point in each element. Singularity follows shortly after. Maxing Fire merely takes you from 40% TEC to 80% TEC; Etheric Charge is essentially 120% TEC on Fire when maxed (300% base damage).
Though, maxed Fire Star is more damage than Etheric Charging a Level 1 Fire. 200% per turn vs 150%.

Oops. Well, guess I had this obsession with keeping the TP cost low that I just put everything in the mastery. I already rested for fire, so I'll just get Etheric Charge.
So for some reason my [hide]yggdroid[/hide]/arbalist won't equip his big ass cannon bow....Why not?
Edit: Never mind. Forgot that you can't equip that weapon until you put a point into the skill that allows you to.

Well, I beat yesterday the second boss, curiously I found harder the part before than the actual combat itself.
That's because those fucking Iron turtles who seems to be always with other two strong enemies are a pain in the ass to deal with before you get to the actual boss. In fact the first time my Ninja got oneshot by its Ice attack and I went to the boss just to see what it was like since I was already there... needless to say I got slaughtered. I wasn't prepared for all that binding and statusing. So I bought some ice protection (and forgot to remove them before the combat but they are not useless, so it was kinda ok) and got Protect order, Shrug off (which I never used though) and a bunch of Theriacas, Medicas and Amritas.
Party was level 25-26 (26 reached while going there mostly -_-).
The Princess buffed the party and when had nothing to do attacked, plus she used items together with Ninja when needed. I never used Amritas but the Theriacas were a must and some Medicas helped too since I screwed up with the buff/protections sometimes.
The Hoplite mostly covered the party.
The Ninja made clones (Nikudan FTW when one died), attacked, and used Hellfire when available though in combo with the Buccaneer (the two highest TEC), the damage wasn't stellar (around 40 each hit I believe).
The Buccaneer lowered the boss's defense (seriously Eagle eye is good!) and then Rapid fired a lot (that skill combined with level 1 Quick draw to replenish TP basically means I never use basic attacks, I find it really strong) dealing a nice amount of damage.
The Arbalist used Pop flares to help aiming and then just made basic attacks, which were quite painful since we were at night with Night vision and Giant kill.
The damage output wasn't exactly epic since I hadn't "cheating" elemental skills but pretty much all the weapons were fire-forged so that helped a bit.
All went (kinda slowish) well until the end of the fight where some misplays let the boss kill both the Princess and the Hoplite, but at that point he had a couple of pixels of health left so the others managed to take him down.
Now I'm exploring 9BF which seems to me a bit easier than B5F (I haven't subclassed yet or spent skill points after the boss fight except for the Princess in order to get more points in Monarch March), comparing them as "first floor of a new stratum after the boss"... B5F slapped me in the face hard.
Well actually all the second Stratum was harder than I thought and I found myself fleeing a lot just to avoid annoying battles. :\

Now that I've finally gotten to the 4th Stratum, I think I've finalized my main party. Here's what I'm using, which has been both really fun and really effective so far. I'll also list the main skills I've been giving the highest priority to for each of them.
1.
PRINCE / HOPLITE - Royal Lineage, Nobility Proof, Protect Order, Reinforce, Monarch March.
2.
GLADIATOR / NINJA - Endless Battle, Nine Smashes, Karuwaza, Wild Swings.
3.
(young male picture with brown hair and red armor)
SHOGUN / NINJA - Second Sword, 5-Ring Sword, Karuwaza, Kubikiri.
4.
BUCCANEER / FARMER - Swashbuckling, Pincushion, Trickster, Strange Seeds, Harvestry.
5.
ARBALIST / ZODIAC - Giant Kill, Etheric Return, Armor Piercer, Double Action, Fire/Volt/Ice Barrage.

Soooo
unlocked sub-classing
@___@ so confused with what to do with my party
I have Hoplite/Ninja in the front row, and I sub-classed my Monk as Princess.
So. This obsoletes my existing Ninja since she can't use the 6th slot anymore. Also possibly obsoleting my existing Prince, but I may just sub-class the Prince as Arbalist for Front Mortar, that way the Prince and Monk/Princess can tag-team buffs and heals (overkill? what? I don't care)
But what to replace my Ninja? I like having the Hoplite's clone in the backrow, so I can Line Guard all rows, if necessary, and so that Hoplite is the highest HP in either row.
This leaves me with:
Prince/(Arbalist?) - Hoplite/Ninja - Pirate
???? - Monk/Princess - (HopliteClone)
But what is ????
Maybe Zodiac? HMMMM

So, the [hide]yggdriod[/hide]. Is he naturally resistant to binds. Cause any enemy that uses binds just can't hit mine. No matter how many bind moves they spam its only the ones he inflicts on him self that do anything.
Oh also I was wondering if the gladiator class only skill stacks with the monks unarmed strike damage skill.
