Right now I am on the 4th Stratum and made a few mistakes culminating in 2 days worth of leveling in losses. I blame the Arbalist... sort of.
Warrior Might/Ikkitousen missing so many times and costing me more than an arm and a leg, Shogun being p much paper, what really frustrates me is that I can't figure out a good front line class other than Gladiator, Princess and Hoplite.
My question is, does Proper Form affect Warrior Might/Ikkitousen? I dropped my Arbalist back in the third stratum due to accuracy pains, rolling with Ninja-Zodiac and Zodiac-Arbalist. Really enjoying my infinite Meteors since it's not missing as much as my previous Arbalist.

Keep in mind, I was mostly wondering what would be useful against the third stratum bosses. I'll probably just level my Hoplite for now and save subclassing until I get to one.
Also, where the bloody hell is Aegis Defense? I've heard it's a boss I've already defeated many times, but I only got Hellfire from it.

I'm pretty sure you get Aegis Defense by defeating the [hide]Ghost Ship[/hide], boss of [hide]Tortuga Island[/hide].

Ok, been going through a 2nd run of the game via New Game+ and I'm having difficulty deciding on a dedicated subclass for my Buccaneer, Iris.
Here's my team first off...
Zero - Gladiator/Arbalist
Iris - Buccaneer/????
X - Arbalist/Gladiator
Rika - Monk/Princess
Zareth - Ninja/Zodiac
So yeah, Iris is the only one I'm having a hard time deciding on a subclass for. Gladiator was my first thought for Wolf Howl so that frees up Zero to just Charge right from the get go instead of spending a turn for that.
Any opinions are welcomed. Thanks!

Well, a Buccaneer/Arbalist is pretty useful. 5 TP AoE attacks are never a bad thing.

I'm pretty happy with my party right now, but I unlocked the shogun and was wondering if I could fit one in the party, main or subclass, just because they are cool.
Right now I have
Princess/Monk
Hoplite/Ninja
Ninja/Zodiac
Buccaneer/Gladiator
Arbalist/Farmer
The main candidate would be the Buccaneer, either as a Buccaneer/Shogun or Shogun/Buccaneer. I'd like to maintain guns and focus on a normal multi-attack strategy plus Pincushion when needed. Shogun as a main class would be to dual wield guns, the TP regen is not a big issue sinche the Ninja/Zodiac can use Dark Ether for 1 TP.
I'm having a little trouble theorycrafting from the skillsim, too many options :\ What would you suggest? Or should I just keep the Buccaneer/Gladiator and leave the Shogun alone for now (well, I have 4 in the roster with maxed Combat study, I guess I could wait and use them later)...

Yay, I successfully beat [hide]1 dragon out of the 3 (the Wyrm)[/hide] yesterday.
My party's challenging but fun. I've opted for no Monk in the party whatsoever (not even as a secondary class), for the dual reason of just not really liking the class at all, and to see if it's possible to get through everything without one. I'm also trying to do everything with a bare minimum of item use. In my battle against [hide]Wyrm[/hide] mentioned above, I think the only items I used were 3 Armita III's. I could've probably managed to do it without any items at all though, but I caved in and played it safe just to get rid of it.
Here's what I've got:
PRINCE / NINJA - My main (and usually only) dedicated defensive member of my party. He uses Bushin to duplicate himself in boss fights when extra defense is needed, so he can quickly and constantly be buffing two rows at once. The rest is in Prince skills.
GLADIATOR / NINJA - Uses Karuwaza for TP regen, the rest is all Gladiator skills.
[hide]SHOGUN[/hide] / NINJA - Uses Karuwaza for TP regen, and Kubikiri for some instant kills. The rest is put into [hide]Shogun[/hide] skills.
BUCCANEER / FARMER - Having the useful exploration skills like Rain or Shine, To Market, and Slap Awake helps a lot when you're trying not to use items. When low on TP, level 1 Quick Draw with level 10 Trickery builds it back quickly.
ARBALIST / ZODIAC - Using Etheric Return tends to keep her TP maxed in the random scrub battles. The rest is put into Arbalist skills.
[hide]YGGDROID[/hide] / HOPLITE - Mainly for the Hoplite side, I'm only using this for the boss battles that require elemental shields. In the [hide]Wyrm[/hide] battle, I replaced my Arbalist with this. This class combination seems to make for a nearly invincible and self-sufficient tank/protection class, but it's kind of boring to me and I don't like using it where it's not absolutely needed (I found the Protector class boring in EO1&2 as well).
