It's still hypocritical.
[spoiler]That said, if your family/loved ones celebrate it and you don't, I don't see much hypocrisy in spending time with them. There's a difference between "being with loved ones during a celebration I don't believe in" and "celebrating a celebration I don't believe in."[/spoiler]

I don't see how you can't remove all the religious roots from something and just celebrate it as a day of giving
