FFFFF-

So watching a movie with my dad last night and I realize as I'm playing my game that I've no where left to explore on B8F so that left me with two choices: A) explore the sea B) attempt the boss

I chose B for some god unknown reason even though I knew I would be partly distracted. I always do a "temp run" to see how bad I will be decimated and what all I should bring.

One or two more levels would not have hurt - AT ALL. And I DEFINITELY needed to bring more Amritas (I only had two Amrita II and one single Amrita).

My Arbalist was the big hitter with his Armor Piercer - he got both Amrita IIs. My Buccaneer used Hanging while my Hoplite used Blitzr-whatever - he ended up getting the single Amrita. I had to use a few Medics to keep my Princess at full health - which really was not a big deal. Most of the attacks were directed at the front line. My Monk was only forced to heal occassionally.

Getting the boss down to that inch of health was where all hell broke loose. It either got stronger all of a sudden or was using some attack that I wasn't catching the name quickly enough (remember - I'm watching TV at the same time here). Either way, my Monk dies first - I have only one Nectar II. I use it on her, but she ends up dieing again later. Then my Arbalist's TP runs out - and then he dies.

So I have my Buccaeer and Hoplite and my Princess. Neither of them have TP so I'm just hacking away. At this point the only reason I've not turned off the game is because I can't be bothered to do so and I'm really into the TV show. I'm just torturing my party *shrugs*. I think at one point I used the Formeldehyde - I can't even remember except that it's no longer in my inventory. Dunno why I used it since I was near death.

And then my Buccaneer dies... my Hoplite gets in like three more attacks before he, too, inevitably succumbs. At this point I realize that this damn whale MUST be near death since it's at that mark where it really is no longer registering on his health scale. My lone Princess gets in about two hits, she's got like 10 HP left.

I'm watching the TV screen, I turn back to my DS and realize - it's a the victory screen. o_O; Uhhhh..... huh?!

:3 My poor Princess, severly injured, with the bodies of her comrads lieing unconscious all around her, stood victorious!!

I thought for two seconds to turn the game off anyways and re-tackle the boss and do it properly but... fuck that! ......... Ariadne Thread, save.

*shrugs* I'll go back later and refight the bastard anyways. Apparently even though I used that item that's suppose to give all the items (I thought) I am still missing one item from him. Did I use it wrong? Oh well *sigh*

I have now opened up Subclasses and I'm busy fretting over what I want my team as...
DON'T MESS WITH LIANA, BITCH!!!
Formaldehydes will only work if they are used on the turn you kill the monster.

Just, wow. Must have been a ton of exp for Liana since everyone else was dead. There's no way I would have saved after that. I'm OCD about having all of my characters at the same exp. Even with all the resting and making new characters and grinding them up to speed that I've done I have three that are at 23018, one at 23019, and the other is at 23020. Any battle, including randoms, that ends with a dead character gets an instant reset.

After grinding my new [hide]Yggdroid/Buccaneer[/hide] up to speed I finally started mapping out the first floor on the 4th stratum. I must say that this is my favourite stratum so far. The music is sweet and the dungeon looks pretty cool.

I gave that OCD up when I realized Sea Quests forced you to give up one of your characters.

I got around that problem by not setting foot in a boat. When I finally do the sea quests it will be with my benched characters.

Yeah, I'm really thinking about doing it because it's REALLY annoying on the 9th floor, to the point that it's pissing me off.

She's my "healer" (subclassed as Farmer). Now that my Princess's role dependability is starting to wear as a healer, this is her moment to shine. This is why I rested her. GRRRRR. No, I'm seriously not happy with her, which fits her story perfectly since she's not a very dependable person. :[ Francis is about to make her walk his plank.

Hehe that's actually kind of funny, although I certainly sympathize with your frustrations. I ran my monk as straight healer through the first 2 stratums. When I got subclassing I went for the highly original (sarcasm here) Monk/Princess and honestly I haven't put much into the Monk skills. I have maxed Form Qi and one point in Healing, everything else has gone into Princess buffs and passive heals. It works for story line considering I had her as my party leader anyway, and now that her annoying little sister has shown up everyone knows she's royalty. Much to her dismay of course

Anyway I've found that solo grinding really isn't that bad in this game. Auto-walk and auto-battle (when I can use it, the L button on my DS is messed up) really help. With just minor attention to the game you can get Mia back to speed while posting here or watching something or whatever you want to do.

In any case, I've got to go to bed now. Good luck with her!

Post-game boss spoilers ahead!
Wyrm has fallen with a 57/57/57/57/56 team. Took several tries before I decided on my battle plan though.

Ended up arming my team (Jade, Zero, and X in the front row with Rika and Iris in the back row) with 2x Flame Amulets each to make Searing worthless, meaning Jade could make a copy of herself on the first turn without worry. The loss of defense wasn't a big deal...especially for Zero who had ~605 HP cause dammit I want him to have the most of SOMETHING since damage is already claimed and cemented in stone by X.

Oh yeah...WYRM IS A DOUCHEBAG OF IMMENSE CALIBER!

Where to start...Howling is, as usual, evil. Attack Order nor Charge Tactic seemed to do a damn bit of good in preventing confusion from hitting some members. Rather lovely situation when you get like 4+ members confused from one casting...and even more lovely when it gets cast ON THE TURN A DAMN SEARING SHOULD HAVE COME OUT! I'm thinking it had to do with either too many buffs, too many attack buffs, or something I might have done that turn.

That's the primary reason this fight took ~23-24 turns to finish. I could also blame Howling for making me have to burn a Nectar II on X because yay confusing both my Hoplite/Ninjas and yay Red Fang doing like 400 dmg to X because I couldn't throw up a Line Guard in time.

When I could mount an offense, well, about the only one with any decent chance of doing so was Power Dem...er, X. ~2k-3k a Charge'd Front Mortar, depending on what attack buffs I could manage to keep up during said turns and if I had sticked Eagle Eye on Wyrm.

Funny how Wyrm couldn't kill anyone, even when it buffed its own attack up. Sure that meant Red Fang could bring X from full HP (309) to under 20, even with Line Guard, but bottom line is attack buff didn't really help Wyrm very much (Well, unless it used Red Fang twice in a row, then there might be issues).

Scored both its drops via Formaldehyde and my first max level boost. Looks like the normal drop is part of the usual Dragonbane weapon unlocked via a drop from Wyrm/Dragon/Drake. The other drop, the conditional one, unlocked a pretty damn nice rapier. Iris will be getting that for when I begin cleaving through the 6th stratum again.

Now to choose...try to fight Dragon or go locate Drake in the 5th stratum and fight it instead. Choices, choices.
