The chance to break a Bind (in EO2) was (spoiler for size, possible irrelevancy to EO3):
[spoiler][20% * (10 + LUC) / (9 + 3*LVL)] + 10%/turn (starting with the turn it was applied, though it cannot break on the turn applied).
For example, 50 LUC @ Level 50:
20% * (10 + 50 / 9 + 3*50) + 10%/turn
20% * (60/159) + 10%/turn
7% + 10%/turn
Since it won't break the turn applied but the chance is added, it's 17% on turn 1; this means the first chance of breaking is 27% and increases to 37%, 47%, 57%, etc. for every turn after.
Incidentally, this means you want your LUC at roughly 3 times your Level ... or, rather, a high level yields a lower chance to break out of a status effect. A Level 30 with +30 LUC equipped (and, say, 60 LUC due to it) vs a Level 60 with natural 60 LUC breaking out of a Bind gives us:
20% * (70 / 99) vs 20% * (70 / 189)
14% vs 7%
The other status effects are as follows:
Sleep, Paralyze: 40%
Confuse, Terror: 30%
Poison: 25%
Everything else: 20%[/spoiler]
Since pretty much every other formula has changed, the chances that this is the same is slim. I've done little work on EO3 (read: nothing~) so I have no idea what the EO3 formula is.
I guess I can poke around when I get the chance.
