Poor damage scaling due to Typeless (EO3 has more actual vulnerabilities and buffs) and just poor damage output itself.

Eh, I just forgot what was a decent party. The one I finished with was Monk/Princess, Gladiator/Buccaneer, Hoplite/Ninja, Zodiac/Arbelist, Arbelist/Gladiator though.

Freezing Blow Zodiac/Gladiator (or Gladiator/Zodiac, they work interchangeably) deals less overall damage than a Nine Smashes Yggdroid/Gladiator, I believe. I'd have to sit down and look at the numbers, though I'm pretty sure it's still the case.

But, yeah, it's a bit higher in the cost-to-use and it's not like the payoff is really all that great.

Edit: As for the build ... Overheat, Charge, Berserker's Vow, Nine Smashes? I'm not sure what to say since Gladiator builds are pretty simple. Get your damage skill, get your damage boosters, hip-hip-hooray.

Hm, possibly. I really wouldn't know, I mostly like the FB Zodi/Gladi (Zodi since I use females only, and like them clothed :P) for the ~20k hits which are more reliable, nine smashes seems so random to me in how much damage you end up doing.

I'm working for an endgame build for my first play-through, I went with the Deep City's Plot path and Unlocked Yggdroids. I'm now Retiring my party of Level 50's and regrinding them for preparation for stratum 5. I noticed a big flaw of my initial team was that while it worked well defensively, I was screwed over when A/G got a surprise focus attack and had trouble keeping him alive long enough after resurrection to get him back up to pace due to being the only damage dealer on my team. So now I'm planning a new team, but here's where I'm lost:

I'm going to run a Y/H for tanking, an A/G for damage, and in the back a N/Z TP battery.

But right now, I cant decide on my Second Damage dealer, and What to do with my Prince.

I had Ideas for a Y/B or a G/B for Pincushion. and P/W for constant healing and Drums/Roar Or P/Z for keeping the Regen Bubble from popping as much with that lovely evasion boost. and Z/W for drums, roar and meteor or Z/G for meteor and Vow. Although for this setup, Z/W would be preferable if Drums isn't greatly outclassed by Vow's Bonus.
