I am not sure about your party formation. It looks like you have two Snipers. But it won't hurt to have two Snipers with Chase Bind. In fact, I presume S/B performs better in Chase Bind since it is considered a special-normal attack (sound strange but this kind is indeed strange). Also, with Snipe Mastery I hardly need Lock On for most-crit Squall Volley against bound enemy, so I consider it the better choice.

Of course I have no idea that you have 2 Snipers, given that there is no/false information provided in your signature...... I never imply that either of them or anyone in your party is in danger though.
P.S. Party Shield is the least used and SP-spent Shield skill for my F/M.

I dislike Party Shield not solely because of its TP issue (I have the issue only in the post-game FOE/boss and only when I have to fight them without returning to inn). The main problem is that it will make my F/M take more damage than I intended her to. F/D may have less problem since Fan Dance certainly solve part of the problem.

I have no need for party advice since the next thing I will do is to play NG+ with a lonely level 30 Imperial solo (until she finds the NPCs) in NG+. And from my sign, you should see that I have another main Dancer in the same role (again, if you understand my words). Actually my Fortress is quite unique: she has no need to subclass at all, has too many SP to spend, and I make her a F/M simply because I love having a Paladin like character in my party in all EOs, even if all she does is to row Refresh/Treat rather than healing (that's why she actually uses TP despite being in the front row). Besides, a dancing plate wearing who evades a lot just break my imagination, the very same reason I didn't like dual wield 2 bows. Stretch turns out to be great: with Knight's Boon makes her super effective against binding enemies. Revive and Auto-revive are always good to have since they are also TEC-independent.

What's the problem with Line Shield and Snipers?
My party's back row is certainly able to absorb one or two turns' AoE attacks, and in the third, the lovely Dismiss Heal will simply undo every single damage, if not already healed by Circle Boon. Front row will be covered with Regen Waltz if necessary.

Hmm, after entering the third area, I'm not really sure what to go for on my party right now.

Land - Oh boy, those link skills that are absolutely killer. I guess I'll set her up with Runemaster.

Fortress - Not as important as in previous games I kinda feel. Granted, line shielding is still pretty damn useful (when it doesn't cause her to take a dozen hits to her death). It seems dancer is pretty much the best bet.

Night Stalker - Only really maxed out her blind and Blade Flurry; Not sure where to really allocate her points really. Think I'll upgrade Shadow Bite maybe? Probably just gonna sub for Bushi when that comes up.

Arcanist - I really like , so I replaced my medic with her. Not sure if I should max out Circle Boon and/or Bracing Walk, and I really have no idea if I should just leave points in her bind circles, or split up and have points in those ailments and the two eye spells. Doesn't really help I kinda want to swap NS with Imperial whenever I get that class, so that takes out a ailment user. Definitely subbing her for medic, seeing as I no longer have a revive spell anywhere.

Runemaster - Swapped my Sniper for her, mostly because I never seemed to use mages in the other EO games. Only have enough points in her elemental runes to unlock the master ones much later, and just focusing on dem passives. Really have no idea what to sub her as.

I'm thinking about resting my Land though; with this setup, it feels like I'll probably never wind up using up all of those link charges.

Thanks, anyway my current setup in the 4th sanctum is now:

L/R: Still really useful whenever I feel like setting up. Putting a few points in the actual weapon skills, although I really should've continued maxing out the link skills.

B/F: Yep. Just felt like using a Bushi and well, it's actually kinda useful. Endure means she can just get back 200 HP if she shields everyone, and it's a bit easier getting back HP and TP, especially with Holy Smite. Not to mention large attacks when she gets a turn. Probably will readd my Fortress if things look a bit tough.

NS/A: Ooh jeez. A rarity to see ailments be so useful, and with that TP restore, she can handle her throws pretty well. And big damage too! I do feel like using Imperial though. Ah, that 5 member limit...

R/B: Don't have Imperial just yet, so this'll do for now. Haven't put that many points in Bushi though, always worried about that whole "Lose HP" thing, and I felt like maxing the Rune passives anyway (haven't decided to focus on any spells though). Although I feel like readding my sniper to work with my Arcanist, and the whole linking combo. Like seeing her endure fatal blows, although I seem to conserve TP a bit too much when using her

A/M: Doing fine now, that she can put points in her master tree. Not sure whether to focus on ailments or more binds if I take out the Nightseeker and add in the Sniper. Points feel kinda contrainted, but I guess taking line refresh and the revive tree is fine (should check if I can get that Heal Mastery though...).

Also not sure about how to build a Imperial, I guess maybe just pure physical bushi since I already have a elemental linker>? Although I'm not sure what'll be useful, even while looking at right now.

Hey everyone! Since Etrian Odyssey has returned, so have I! :)

I've been playing EO4 for a few weeks now, and I'm really loving this game, as I have with all the Etrian Odysseys. I'm currently working on the fifth dungeon, and think I probably have my party finalized. I like to call them the "Imperial Dance Troupe", or alternately, "Never Stop Dancing". Their portraits are in my signature, but here's their details:

FRONT ROW:
1. Imperial/Landsknecht (Drive Blade)
2. Bushido/Dancer (Katana)
3. Dancer/Imperial (Drive Blade)

BACK ROW:
4. Runemaster/Imperial (Staff)
5. Arcanist/Dancer (Bow)

I tend not to like the devoted Healer and Tank classes in these games... so, as usual, I came up with a party that doesn't use either of them (note the complete lack of any Medic or Fortress). I also don't dual wield on anyone, prefering to just focus on one weapon type for each character, and maximizing defense with the other equipment slots.

The one class I do really love in this game, as you might have guessed, is the Dancer. While not quite as awesome as the Prince from EO3 (which probably my alltime favorite EO class so far), the Dancer has some pretty cool stuff going on. Fan Dance, Sword Dance, and Mist Dance are maxed out on all Dancers in the team, providing for a ridiculous shutdown of most enemies just by normal attacking alone. They also act as capable healers (and effectively eliminate need of Medic) by all having some points put into the Waltz line of skills (I know they don't stack, but it's nice to have backup condition/bind removal available in case one gets shut down).

The other class I like is the Imperial, for probably obvious reasons. I have my primary Dancer using Impulse Edge for the TP gain, and the Runemaster with Absorber and Finisher for TP management.

So far I've managed to stomp through the game surprisingly easily. The only thing noticably lacking in my team setup is any sort of revive/resurrect ability. But since my goal is to put together a team that won't be dying in the first place, carrying around a few Nectars for emergencies has been sufficient for that. At the point I'm at now I don't really have to even avoid new FOEs I come across. I'll see how it holds up in the post game, but I'm fairly confident I can manage to adapt to it using this team.
