Suggestions for the final boss:

Calm Breath is quickly replacing Double Slash as my most-used Burst skill, followed in second by Full Retreat.

Question for the hardcore Etrian Odyssey post-game players, is EO4 the first game in the series to have some story to its post-game dungeon? What I've seen of the earlier games' post-game content is just gimmicky floors without story. I've never made it very far into the post-game though, so maybe I missed some deeper stuff.

And, yeah, I realized it WAS triggering, I just have my battle set too fast and the message just went by too fast for me to catch. I was awesome expecting a fire-animation DURING the ally's attack and never noticed the "extra" attack that was being triggered. I should pay more attention to these sorts of things. It was just working differently than I had assumed.

Omnihunters are pretty scary even for a level 33 party, but damn is that drop worth it.

I see. I didn't miss much then by not getting into EO2's post-game.

Meanwhile I want to know all about EO4's backstory. But these monsters won't let me! It feels like I get wiped out twice for every three tiles I add to the map..
