Come to think of it, there was another popular game series that made an accessibility decision that was met with much criticism recently as well.

Fire Emblem's "casual" mode. Criticized or not, it apparently did quite the job of getting fresh blood into the player base.

I totally agree about this being a more accessible version of Etrian Odyssey and that being okay.

I don't care what anyone says. I'm a die hard Etrian Odyssey fan and I pray that they never change their formula, but FUCK I'M EXCITED FOR THIS!

Every image I've seen and all the content and the website - it's just proof to me that the creators are not just passing out rehashed crap. It is going to be a quality game that will hopefully add to the series and not deter from it. All you nay sayers are slashing on a game for a series that hasn't let us down yet. I think you should calm down and seriously give it a chance. ^_^ I'm going to treat it like any other upcoming EO game: BE SUPER PSYCHED!!!

Yeah, Japan's already had that break with Etrian Odyssey 4 having been released last June. I'm sure we'll all be impatiently fawning over English trailers in a few months.

I... I have hope that Atlus loves us. I believe.... ATLUS LOVES US!! I BELIEVE THAT!!! Please bring this game over.... I can't see them bringing four games over in this series and not continue to do so.

I probably won't get it. Maybe if they ever do one for EOII. I feel like I'd want to play EOI first before playing this.
