^How did you come up with this......?
I don't see any problem with New EO, but judging from their previous translation, who knows?
(Am I the only one who cannot find any significant connection to Etria in any game but the first Etrian Odyssey? The JP title on the other hand is about Yggdrasil Maze, which is presented in every title.)

^_^ I agree. The series' name has turned into the biggest misnomer ever. I try to keep some Etria attachment, though, to try to make a connection *looks down at the name of her Skyship*

@title: maybe they use this "new start" to be reasonable and just call it Shin Sekaiju no Meikyuu: Millenium no Shoujo.

I am fine with Shin Sekaiju no Meikyuu, but I will be mad if they leave Millenium no Shoujo untouched.
A bit related to this naming issue:
I dunno how much the can represent Atlus JP/Index, but it translate the new game title as "Shin Etrian Odyssey: Girl of the thousand-year-old kingdom", so Millenium is describing the sunken city rather than Frederica. (But the implication is more or less the same)
Other new (to me) information include:
Guild house seems to provide food, quest too. But doesn't that "stack" with the Bar's services?
Grimoire can be of enemy's skills, and they can be combined to make a new ones.
Come to think of it, perhaps calling it Neo Etrian Odyssey (short for N.E.O

) works?

What's bad about Millenium no Shoujo?
@Neo: Might es well make that Neon Etria: The Odyssey of 1000 girls. I think this works better, because it is as liberal/wrong a translation as Etrian Odyssey was in the first place.

If I recall, they did not set out to translate Yggdrasil Labyrinth incorrectly. They ran into some copyright problems.

I don't think they would leave Shin Sekaiju no MeiQ untranslated. Not everyone who buys the games knows what the Japanese name is, and if they suddenly change the name of the series, they could risk losing sales. Whatever they release it as, it will always have Etrian Odyssey in the title. They wouldn't leave the subtitle untranslated either, for similar reasons.
The only reason they leave the Shin Megami Tensei series name untranslated is because they've been doing that from the beginning. Also, the translation, New Goddess Reincarnation, sounds really awkward in English.

But again, it sounds awesome if pronounced directly using Chinese, so I don't care about naming that much.
P.S. the Shin word in SMT means "true" or "real" as a Chinese character.
Having the franchise brand untranslated can be for consistent reason (which is not EO's case anyway); having subtitle untranslated in Japanese romaji is another story. This is not an English phrase, not a predefined noun (the franchise title), and not meaningful at all. Think about if I translate Mandarin products and leave the pinyin other than predefined noun (e.g. place name) untranslated. My experience was that this is totally disastrous. My brain wasn't even functioning when I see that mess, not knowing which term I should use English to decode and which one I should use pinyin. (If you don't understand, try choose a wrong encoding in a webpage with more than English alone)
Shin Sekaiju no Meikyuu is fine because (1)Sekaiju no Meikyuu is still recognisable for reoccurence, and (2) it probably will occur to me again. But Millenium no Shoujo is an ad hoc case.
