I can't be the only one who doesn't like the fact that it's getting an anime op.


also, this is up now (after many problems on my PC):

I associate saxes with lounge muzak that's too loud for background filler. As such, my reaction to this new BGM can be succinctly expressed as:

I like that it gets an anime OP, though, a real anime would be more fun. Probably only a matter of time if the series continues to be successful.

I swear to Satan, if it gets some terribad J-pop song in there, I'm going to rage so hard.

As Yuzo Koshiro has shown in the past with the opening to Namco x Capcom, he is more than capable of producing a great song for said opening.




But I'm still going to be just as skeptical as Etrian Odyssey leans further towards Persona. Hey guys, lets make an RPG series as a throwback to Western-style '80s Dungeon Crawlers. Ok, now lets shove as much Shonen-oriented weeaboo garbage as we possibly can into the game.

Oh god, I hope that doesn't happen.

This is interesting. I had no idea people were already talking about how SSQ may be something it is not, which is a game everyone will avoid like the plague because 'Little Jimmy saw someone put a gun to his own head!!' Or some weird stuff like that.

Then again, seeing how most doujinshi treat their custom-made female cast in EO, if ATLUS starts catering to those guys only, I will probably cry inside. I may be a weeb, but I'd rather the series sticks to its more basic premise because then you can use your imagination for whatever you like and not generalize your audience when you narrow it down to pervy teenaged males. I rather not have it turn into a waifu date sim, and even if it does go there, at least have a female option or something. Seriously, I was saddened you couldn't at least change the gender of the Hero.

For what it is worth, if they ever do keep on making SSQ games, I hope their SSQ3 can make us have That is my two cents on it. Otherwise, I am now anticipating SQ5 if they ever make it...

In other news, did you know Persona is one reason why I actually avoided other games made by ATLUS? I know my friends enjoy the games, but I avoid them personally so I don't get sucked in to a story I may not like. EO3 was how I got fully addicted to EO in general. Sure, it is easier to play than the others, and you can call me a casual, but if more of the games are like EO3 and EO4 in storyline and in gameplay, I would be in heaven. I am not sure how similar the gameplay is with each other and all, but it is quite obvious the school scenario is not my kind of style.

@ZetaBladeX13: What makes Etrian Odyssey "a very Western-style RPG series"? I always thought of it as a series that got back to the very basics, before there was a distinction between regions.

Also, I have to say I do hope there will be lots of fanservice and other things anime, for that's what I like about the game. After all, I always made myself a party consisting pretty much of young anime girls only. What you fear is just the next natural step in my opinion. (And I somewhat want that J-Pop OP :3)

You do know that Persona heck the SMT series is just like/similar to Wizardry games (at least the the first of the games besides Devil Summoner Raidou, Maken X and few others) and they made games like Devil Survivor and Strange Journey. So while people like to hump Persona 3/4 so bad...Atlus don't just stick to games like it

Adding a story mode/Op may cater to a new crowd of people isn't bad as long as they don't forget the other fans which they didn't. Also just cuz MadHouse is doing a opening doesn't mean its going have dancing...that was only for Persona 4 Golden and only done ONCE for golden especially with the song which was probably done by Shoji Meguro (wouldn't be surprised) so yeah worrying to much for something VERY unlikely. Have to wait and see
