.... I always memo what I find in my chests. And if I get a game over I rewrite the memo to indicate it needs to be reobtained. <_< I've done this since the first game when I got a game over and couldn't remember what chests I got and whether the items were worth going after again or not.

I never save my map data after wiping anymore. I did it like, twice in EO1 and never did it after that.
I wonder if the Guild House quests will be DLC stuff...Wouldn't make sense to have regular quests there and in the bar, since we know we'll still have the bar.

That's certainly one possibility. I suppose another is that orders from the Migard Library would be available in the guild house, since it won't make much sense if those orders are received in the bar.

I always mark chests on my map. I put a memo on it and just write "o" on it if I've opened it, and if I haven't, I leave the floor underneath it coloured in and don't put a memo on.
I really hope they never put out a canon map legend. Half the fun of mapping for me is figuring out how to use all of the markers creatively to map out each new gimmick I encounter.

I hate the thought of an official legend, too. I would rage if they told me placing a wall in front of a door was wrong. The way I map areas with water tends to be a bit wonky, too.
I've never really thought about whether or not the part of making my own map was fun or not(Except for THE PIT FLOOR in EO1), but the thought of the game drawing my map for me... makes me feel just a little disgusted.

^_^ In EOIV I don't think I used even half of the icons they gave me, but I LOVED that they supplied me with all of them.
It wasn't until EOIV that I bothered drawing in water at all - or cliffs. But when I got the first map, the color blue supplied by Whirlwind looked so nice I thought "sure, why not." I didn't draw in cliffs and holes - I kinda wish I started making them look like water mid way through the game, that's how frustrated I was starting to get. My second playthrough I will probably do just that.
When the first game came out, I actually had the floor auto-map turned off - that's how excited I was for the mapping feature. I turned it back on when I realized I was getting confused about what spots I had stepped on and what I hadn't and it was becoming a little TOO time consuming. I thank god that I chose to do that since it introduced FOEs and started showing them ONLY on the panels you had stepped on.

Actually, I got to thinking that using the full automap would make you spend less time looking at the map(bottom screen). i.e. you would spend more time looking at the beautiful scenery of the labyrinth instead of taking quick glances at it while making the map. I tend to not look at the top screen at all when revisiting areas, too, so full automap might actually help me appreciate the labyrinth's beauty a bit more.
I take a good look at the place when I first set foot on each Strata, of course, but not much after that unfortunately. I'll probably turn full automap on after the first playthrough of the game.

I double checked the Atlustube account and there's nothing new on there other than a SMTIV vid. I think she was just making a general statement. In which case

you're wrong Dangerus. You're not the only one and don't get me so excited in the future XD
