Oh god what happened here

Tastes in voices all depend on what sort of image they invoke... which is why I dislike that Kugimiya Rie (I massacred the spelling, I'm sure) voice because the first time I heard her in a major role was in Shakugan no Shana, and I thought Shana was a bitch.

I don't find that Phillistine song annoying. Probably helped by the fact I can't understand half of the lyrics.

The first time I heard Tara Strong was as Bubbles, who I found a pretty funny character. So even though I'm pretty sure it was edited to a higher pitch, I don't mind her too much.

I liked the Baccano! and VLR dubs.

@garrett1502: Thoses "desu"s are hardly high pitched enough to make me worry that glass might break. It's the cute kind of high pitched voice that I like anime for. (Though, not that particularly one and everything you repeat often enough gets annoying.)

Also, to steer this thread away from discussions about annoying voices... remember how Index has financial difficulties and how quick they were to push the new Etrian Odyssey not only to the Japanese, but to the American market as well? Do we have to worry about those small details or will it turn out to be awwright?

I'm still sticking by what I said about the new approach to EOI. It's because they needed to broaden the user base for the series.

That's something I won't deny, but also something that I can't agree with fully.

A simple remake with EO4's engine and some rebalancing/fixes would have been enough, but Atlus is just experimenting with this one. I don't think having a bigger emphasis on the plot and adding anime tropes will be the standard for the series from now on.

I certainly hope you're right.

^ Seems like it might not even be the standard for one game, depending on what classic mode entails.

Classic mode is not going to be just a carbon copy of EOI.
