Not sure if this has been answered, but can you subclass in this game? Iirc you couldn't in EO1.

No, you cannot. Well, unless you count Grimoires, which perhaps we should.

Why do you want to overcomplicate this beautiful game. *sigh* <_< I love the simplicity. I HATE subclassing. LEAVE MY GAME ALONE!

It just occurred to me that Grimoires are another way that EOU is like a cross between EO1 and Persona.

If they should "fix" the lack of subclassing in EOU, then they should also fix the lack of Burst and the existence of Boost, and they should fix the lack of overworld (just in case someone did enjoy them in EO3 and EO4), and the list can go on for every possible classes that aren't included in a game...

To me, Grimoires is just another mechanism Atlus is tinkering around to deal with the class simplicity problem (or the necessary party formation problem). If you look closely, the subclassing in EO3 and EO4 aren't the same thing either, so you can bet that it is not in the core of EOs but the parts of it that makes every EO unique (core is like the map, parts are like classes). As long as they aren't going backward (e.g. you must have one [insert class name] subbing [insert classing name] in your party to proceed), I am fine with that. If you don't like the new system, suit yourself by ignoring it or ignoring the game. No one should be forced to buy anything they won't enjoy or make use of (look at the many pointless textbooks during study...)

P.S. I did not enjoy subclassing in EO3. It was my worst system experience in the series (navigating experience being the 6th stratum in EO1)

I can change/eat history with sheer will, but let's not change any of this false moon business. It would make this game too short.

These are terrible plot points that have all been done in Sonic at one point.
