Re: EO Untold Rantage!
Yea, some monsters and be pretty brutal. I was exploring b15f and got into a fight with these 2 bat foes and OMG they do insane damage. I was able to kill one of them, but 1 round later another had joined. I didn't have enough resources left (mainly nectars) to deal with this and it ended in a game over.
Also, I just beat the blizzard king, the dragons are more difficult than EO4. But once you know their pattern, they're not that bad. If you plan to fight them on expert mode, you will want ice wall.

! I know what skill you're referring to! Oh! It works like that?? O_O oooooooh. I'M GOING TO DO THAT THEN! I was already planning on putting some points in there on that but not until after the first boss. I might just be rethinking that strategy.

Re: EO Untold Rantage!
As far as I can tell, Draining Thrust and Legion Thrust do the same amount of damage and just drain health from different party members.

Re: EO Untold Rantage!
seriously...?
I got through expert without too much trouble (though i never was able to beat the 6th stratum boss without being cheap), and by comparison EO2 still kicks my ass up and down the street if i don't carefully think about each action i take

Re: EO Untold Rantage!
I'm kind of agreeing with noodles on this one. I don't see any real difference in the difficulty right now compared with 1 and U. There is a SLIGHT difference in that some of the enemies have attacks that I feel are more punishing (arm hammer) and if you aren't paying attention to what the hell you're doing and creating a decent party (or even, as I discovered, rearranging the party) you're going to be seeing a lot more game over screens.

Re: EO Untold Rantage!
I'd say EOU on expert is still easier than the first EO, by virtue of better pacing, and the fact that most classes can start the game with important and useful skills, compared to an alchemist leveling up a bunch of times just to use fire and then leveling up a bunch more times to use ice. back then i was deep in the third stratum before i ever saw inferno/cocytus/whatever
the zebratheriums and giraffa beetles have punishing moves but it's all stuff that a clever protector can deflect, or a well-placed bind can prevent.
