I made it to BF25. This floor is still the same slogfest it was in EO1. Bleh. Large parts of the fifth stratum are far from stairs in general.

Now we grind from lv65 to lv70, the level cap, before going into the final battle. Should I attempt the three optional bosses, or leave them to post-game/ignore them altogether? In EO1 they weren't really worth the hassle (like the whole post-game, for me).

I wonder if there'll be more Story in the post-game sixth stratum in EOU. That would be kinda :/ On one hand more Story is nice, on the other, I hatehatehate level caps.

three optional bosses? are you talking about alraune, golem and manticor, because at the level you're at they are like no challenge. if you mean the dragons then i'm pretty sure they aren't unlocked until postgame anyway, and the only reason to fight them is to raise your level cap

you will also find though that the whole nature of the endgame is different in story mode than classic...heh...

Ah yes, Alraune and Manticor, those were their names. I recalled Golem but not the other two. The last of those three became available during the fifth stratum, so I wasn't sure how tough they'd be. I'll try beating them up today.

I wonder about Manticor. Golem was indeed a pushover at lv66. Alraune wasn't easy though, with a few deaths during the battle. She hits pretty hard, and of course binds are hardly any use in FOE or boss battles.

what do you mean hardly any use Q~Q

binds are MOST important during FOE and boss battles. That's how you fight them. That's how you keep them from using their skills. Also how you get like half of their rare drops.

Head binds also pretty much double the Alchemists damage, and sometimes if you're lucky they'll even stick around for 4~5 turns, surprisingly. (Without Relapse Curse. Although, yeah, you can't rely on more then 2 turns)

From my personal experience, for example, in Story Mode, you'll get much more mileage from Frederica by having her head bind things then you can possibly get otherwise until you have the points to max out both Action Boost+Charged ElementShot. Arthur (or any other Alchemist) can practically solo half the bosses before the bind wears off, with a little luck- even the 3rd and 4th stratum boss. This is ontop of all the scary moves the bind blocks.

A few bosses are kinda hard to bind so it's not worth it, but most of them aren't all that difficult. You get several free turns against the dragons since they all use 2~3 concretely predictable head skills in every set of 5 turns, for example, so binding the bosses is very helpful throughout the whole game.

Alraune is actually really hard to bind though from what I remember >_>; A few of the bosses are simply like that.

In my experience binds take many tries to even succeed once, and then wear off after two, at most three turns. And then the FOE/boss's resistance goes up and you won't succeed again for the rest of the battle. So, yes, binds can help a little, but only marginally. Frederica using her Snipe skills also means she's not using her (usually higher damage) elemental Shots. It's a trade-off that IMO in most cases barely tips the balance.

binds are only good against the normal riffraff. I hardly bother with them during a FOE battle.

Quick question, what are the requirements for unlocking Nectar II at Shilleka's? I'm running out of the ones I got from various quests and chests, and regular Nectars don't quite cut it during boss battles.

Unless you are in post-game, you can't get the item for making Nectar II.

I think that, as far as the numbers go, at the end of the battle, the amount of damage you do to a boss or FOE with successful head snipes (especially if it cant attack, freeing up raquna and simon) will always well exceed the amount of damage you'd be doing just having frederica using elemental shots unless her elemental skills are maxed

Frederica's damage isn't very good until you've maxed Action Boost and a Charged Element that applies to the target. You can generally land a head snipe with one action boost anyway.

Man, though, endgame Frederica can be a beast with pretty easy-to-get grimoires.

So front row alchemist seems to be doing kind of well (Though I'm still finding myself using element attacks more than Pain/Light spells).

Quick question though, does anyone know if Pain Formula uses TEC as a modifier? It'd be nice to know which kind of staves I should focus on.
