You are putting them at 16? I was putting them at 18-20 (obvious exceptions are chloe and the knight whos name escapes me at the moment). So, no, Arianna's voice didn't bother me. Actually I thought it matched her wonderfully. Jarring only in the fact that this is her character and dear lord she really is talking like that, haha.

*runs around in excited circles* OMG IT'S TODAY!! IT'S TODAY!!!!
So I decided that I'm definitely doing a Classic run first. HELL YEAH! XD I'm so excited!! The game is beautiful and I've played so much of the demo.

A reminder to those that got the physical version, the art book in the cartridge case contains 2 QR codes for Grimoires (Medic and Troubadour skills). Still undecided about my classic party outside of the mandatory Beast, but I am considering something like:
Ronin / Sword Hunter
Beast
??? / War Magus
Hexer / Alchemist
Alchemist / Troubadour / Medic (if no WM)
Will probably just create a bunch of temporary characters to read up on the in-game descriptions of their respective skills/force abilities and go off that. I'm kind not feeling using Whip Hunters or Gunners for this playthrough. Also, jostling around the idea of using a Highlander, but not entirely sure on that.
Edit: Narrowed it down to...
[Ronin OR Sword Hunter], Beast, War Magus
Alchemist, Hexer
I almost came close to choosing a sword based Landsknecht though. From the descriptions and TP cost, the Troubadour looks like they got fixed and nerfed hard from what they were like in Untold. Also, the Medic's skills look rather interesting now.
Edit 2: Ronin it is!

XD *hugs her game* IT'S HERE! IT'S FINALLY HERE! AND I'M HOME, PLAYING!
Day 1: The adventure begins! INTO THE LABYRINTH!
My party consists of
Landsknecht, Dark Hunter, War Magus
Survivalist, Alchemist
Already creating backstories for the characters. XD
*sigh* This feels good, playing an Etrian Odyssey game like this. I have no doubt I will continue the Story Mode (it looks like it has cute love story elements = +10 Bonus Points)
But I want the classic adventure. I want the nostalgia and the thrill.

FLOOR 2 ASCENDED!!
... I think I'm seriously going to take a moment and remain on Floor 1 and make a circular path to level up with. I may need to rethink my team just a bit. The damage I'm taking is pretty intense, but I might just need some levels under my belt. I think in my eagerness I progressed through the floor a bit too fast (normally I'm slow in my explorations with frequent return trips to the inn which means more backtracking). I kinda new where things like the spring and the fruit were so I just made beelines for those instead of backtracking. I got the wooden plate in one labyrinth run.

immediately when we learned both prince(ss) and highlander were "confirmed" in the japanese version, i was so hopeful. my 2 favorite classes of all ever time together. so yes. i have them together.
i will play story mode, sure... but classic mode comes first(because highlander princesses). i needed this. so much. so ill follow in Maxine's footsteps. my setup :
Highlander/War Magus/Ronin
Princess/Hexer
ive yet to really level up enough for skills/fought durable enough enemies to really test anything out, but on paper.... i have entirely way too much passive healing going on to feel too scared of anything beyond 1-shots.... which war magus and hexer should shut down quite handily. in theory.
but seriously. the passive regen. everywhere. the heck am i thinking?
and yes. before anyone asks. i named my mighty war magus in Zamisk's honor. (free DLC portrait)

It is almost painful for me. I downloaded the DLC and I looked at the portraits. OMG... those portraits of Medigirl!! o_o ....
It makes me want to forsake my War Magus so bad right now. :O MEDIGIRL!!! *sobs*
I'm even playing around with the idea of reclassing Medigirl as a War Magus JUST to have her.

Yeah, I must say the extra potraits for medic, gunner, hexer, war magus, and protector are really nice.
I've been playing a bit more and i'm discovering the potential of my team.
HOWEVER... "potential" means squat when youre level 5, have no SP, and running around the second floor hoping a group of centipedes doesn't look at you funny.

I think my team will be decent, too, once I get them above Level 3 while being on Floor 2. ><
Dark Hunters are always hit or miss, though. I did a run with the original EO one. I've place others in my team before and ended up switching them out. I'm going to hold to this one. I think I can make him work. I'm hoping.

STOP MAKING ME FEEL GUILTY UGHHH
Anyways, for you brave souls who ARE playing, is at least Classic Mode pretty good? Does Story Mode get better? Does the audio sound as not-as-epic in the full version too? I need stuff to go on so I can decide whether I want this anytime soon or not!
Sucks that I'm going to have to pay to make my Gunner look not annoying once I get this game anyways, though. :<

The audio is better, but that innkeeper's voice is still off, for me she sounds too young.
As for some crazy shenanigans, I keep going over in the back of my mind with what if's on a party consisting of 3 Beasts, 1 (Battle) Medic, and 1 Troubadour. Since one of the Medic's offensive skills' power is based of the parties HP... I wonder what kind of damage the force ability (x3 HP) on 3 Beasts activated along with the Troubadour's HP Buff song would do for that skill.
Then there's also that what if for utilizing Soul Liberator with this party and the potential massive burst it can cause with the synergy of the other classes. Alas, I went Ronin and I'm not regretting it... So far.

originally my team setup was going to be the same.... except a beast instead of a ronin. i ultimately went ronin because of access to elemental attacks (synergy with highlander and princess) and the whole.... glass cannon thing... my group was lacking a second truly dedicated damage dealer, and i was concerned the hybrid beast wouldnt be enough
anyone using beasts care to comment? i really dont mind training up a beast to replace my ronin. my biggest downfall with my group at the moment is potential 1-shots on my party and the hybrid tank would help that... and yet losing ronin could hurt. i'd be left with highlander, war magus and poison hexer.... which is limited to say the least... do beasts hit as hard as ronin? or at least comparible to where it wouldnt hurt too bad?
