Re: EOUII Rantage!
yeah im currently weighing my options... im gonna have to sit down and think about how i wanna do my party... i had a gimmick that i liked, it worked for me but the numbers have started to drop... and when i try to replace the weaker links, the idea starts slipping, or i have to jump through a bit of hoops to keep everything intact.
at the moment i decided to just screw the rules and went all out on Palm skills.
and let me tell you... palm skills are weak, BUT..... oddly enough, they play very VERY nicely with Double action. like... Additional palm will actually trigger twice if double action goes off. and when that happens, it really does redeem itself. though in my case, thats still only 800ish damage on weakness.... which isnt stellar, but...
i just need to decide on how i want to bring my "party" back... the over-the-top and useless passive healing... i have all the options but stopped using them... hmm... i might just have my war magus live on throug an Artery Grimoire and just have my princess go at it. that would be silly
EDIT: it just occured to me i could alter class into a gunner using palm/additonal palm grimoires and have the worst possible stat line gunner ever that just tickles things. alot. in the same turn. seriously i might actually do that because it sounds HILARIOUS.
can any of you gunner people answer a quick question. does Gunner's Force boost (double action) actually stack with their passive of the same name? or is it lame and just a "100% chance" for the passive? i guess a simpler way of asking is...
can a gunner effectively have 3 turns of 2-3x Skill usage a turn?

Re: EOUII Rantage!
Ginnungagap spoilers and rant... Protip: Save before you go to the 3rd floor.
Edit: Second attempt went much better. Though I probably wouldn't be as salty if I hadn't lost that grimoire.

Re: EOUII Rantage!
At very least, you have infinite Force use. Those Axolotls, if you don't attack them and they're the last enemy standing, they'll refill your Force gauge and die instantly. This is especially nice if you have a Princess, since their Force Break restores TP.
As for those terrifying FOEs, you were given 3 Return Flutes for a reason. If get caught, use one and you'll go back and start over without biting the dust. The random encounters suck, but binds make them a million times easier. The Hexgourds (I'm not used to their new name) are weak to arm bind, which stops their confuse move too.
B4F on the other hand is much tamer. Axolotls appear there too, which is really nice. isn't very difficult if you bring fire resistance stuff. Only thing giving me trouble is the dang arm binds. There needs to be a Prevent Order equivalent for binds in the series.

Re: EOUII Rantage!
The FOEs weren't necessarily the issue once I got how to handle them without fighting them. It was essentially this:
- First fight ambushed, my Beast is forced to use its force ability because of a debuff that neuters healing him. Then the third enemy in the back row, the Axolotl, who being dealt a killing blow removed the Force ability permanently. Of course there was no knowing (from that encounter) that it could restore it if left alive...
- Encounter FOE, got an understanding right off the bat how they work, but the second room of them forced me to use a return flute.
- Get past the last room of the FOEs, immediately get into an encounter and finally kick the bucket to the one enemy that does a line-wide confusion attack because of how depleted my TP reserves were.
- . Which stung a little more when I came to realize it on the second attempt.
Edit: Defeated the 4th floor boss and acquired a level 8 Vampire grimoire. With the skill boosted to 18, it seems to be healing around 45% of damage dealt to an enemy with a status condition.
Edit 2: So they moved an item that used to be in the 4th Stratum elsewhere. The is now tied to a quest that sends you to the .

Re: EOUII Rantage!
For all intents and purposes, Hexers are agonizingly slow for random encounters.
Might be better to go Dark Hunter with Weapons Free to get almost the same status coverage + faster activation speeds + superior burst damage. It comes at the cost of lower Tec (which is a big deal since Link Order) and lack of one-turn AOE, but when monsters get a shot at my party before I can even get a chance of controlling them then I rather get a chance of controlling at least one.

Re: EOUII Rantage!
i really didnt want to, but im going to really drop my alchemist... no matter what i try, theyre always the dead weight in my party. every time.... yet at the same time i have no clue what even to replace them with. (spoiler'd because wall of text)
honestly, if i could use a Fafnir in classic, i would. they actually fill a role i want, but alas... classic first runs... any further insight would be welcome, though if theres something i didnt think of. im really at a loss
