Ugh, even at max level (For now, anyway so, I've still not gotten to the dragons) totally wrecked my team the first goes I had at him. The ability to dispel buffs is evidently too much for my party, though I suppose I should also have done the pre-fight HP lowering thing, but good gracious me, it's quite the annoying thing to do. Only made that the more sweeter when I finally finished it off, I suppose. Funnily enough, I expect the final boss to be somewhat easier for my team, unless my thoughts on how the final boss will fight are way off.

Anywho, I think that I'm close enough to the end of the game that I can give some proper thoughts on it. As a remake, though I haven't played the original EO2, I know enough about it's story and the like to say that they didn't butcher it, and gives me at least some condolence in that if they do make an EO3U (Which, again, probably isn't going to be likely for a while anyways) that Classic Mode will most likely also be kept well. The classes are really fun to use, and it's really easy to come up with ideas for all kinds of teams. The music is, as per usual, absolutely amazing, and everything just feels really GOOD. Makes me really excited to eventually see some EO5 news.

i've had to take a couple days off from playing lately mainly due to.....motivational issues. but im less of a veggie again, so RANTAGE!

made it through the 4th stratum and now i have the fun part: finalizing my builds which means finalizing grimoires. you know what that means!

GRIMOIRE FARMING, YAAAAAAAAY!!!! time to max out on all those mastered grims!

on a side note, im currently playing with survivalist temporarily subbing for my elementaler on a secondary save to see just how much punch theyll pack with that super scary bow they get. so i'll probably have to do it twice! fun for the whole family!

i got lucky though and got a speed-up grimoire for my hexer so now her curses will actually go before my ailing slashers, so i dont need to "waste" turns due to ruined turn order. all is looking up... aside from needing to kill one more late night- early morning session on grinding grimoires. though its been a long time coming. time to actually finalize everything rather than hybridizing.

on a side note, im level 50... without telling me what level i SHOULD be... i'd just like to know... am i under-leveled or over-leveled? i just wanna know if i should do some level grinding while im already grimoire farming

alright, so i've finally made it into the 3rd straum (after my first game over to that darned boss) and I like the asthetics of the area…if i could tell where i was going. i'll just have to get used to it i guess, seince the snow makes it all look the same to me.

Elemental Guards only block one attack per character now. So for rapid hitting elemental attacks, the Circles are actually better. For straight AoE damage though, the Guards are better.

At level 10 the Circles reduce damage to 40%. At 20 I think its something like reducing it to about 25%. There's no actual known number on the 20 skill yet.

The Guards only need to be at level 5 incidentally. Any higher merely reduces its TP cost. At 10+ it absorbs damage as HP instead of nullifying it.

I hate the fifth stratum so much. The puzzles aren't too challenging, they're just super annoying and take years to set up correctly. I was hoping most of it's gimmicks would get better but their a all so dang annoying. Anyone who could do these without Monarch March, I applaud you.

I've never really had a problem with the "No Radar" mechanic in past EO games; however, I really love the new twist on it in this game.

Welp, i've conquered and now i've made it to floor 14, at level 34. Still going well, and having fun, except i've gotta go back and find one of the food lists, cause i missed one. and i've gotta go gather food ingredients. Perfect defence is amazing.

ok so i found the ideal compromise for my little group dilema:
went back to my war magus. my ultimate decision was because my friend who played story mode had maxed out grimoires for the elemental sabre skills. so now i can effectively devote myself to brute forcing again, have more passive healing (through vampire+potentially drain bite), and if elemental attacks become required for specific fights, i can head back to town and swap out just a few grimoires have have a chase party.

not only that, but i can start playing around with things like Barrier and Displace now.

not as optimal or even convenient as gunner or ronin, but it just feels....... right.
that also frees up the burden on my princess so now i CAN actually play around with a force-centric setup on princess with like white noble+morale boost and stuff... and have some SP for like... monarch march or something.

i am happier with this group. it works alot better for what i wanted. and pretty dang close to the original group

Frankly I've just been juggling around members for each specific situation, something I haven't done since (Ironically) the original version of EO2.

While ailments and binds undergo a massive slump since the two bosses there are jerks that resist everything. They're damn strong in 4th strata up to the even the final boss of Ginnugagagagagawhatever. I haven't jumped into post-game yet since I'm taking a bit of a break, but I imagine hey work well there as well.

Officially beaten the main game, along with Ginnugagagagagawhatever, as it will now officially be called. The normal final boss was something of a pushover for my team, as I managed to figure out his two elemental weaknesses pretty early on so he fell fairly quickly. The boss for Ginnugagagagagawhatever, however, was much harder for my team as they really aren't well set up for taking down all of said bosses appendages quickly, so I had to be smart with Oils and my gunners stunning Force Break (As said boss has a certain move that completely ruins my team if he manages to use it) and though it took many tries and the boss had resummoned it's appendages multiple times it was quite a long fight, but eventually said boss fell. I feel kinda embarrassed cause most people said it was a really easy boss for them, but eh. Anyways I've also set foot into the 6th Stratum, mostly to see if I would get any Dragon quests from it, only to see that I did not. Can anyone tell me at what point those quests come up? I really want them extra levels.
