Ugh the final story boss is Hard! The gamefaqs boss guide says you should be mid-60's to fight him. I am 63 and he owned me he was canceling my buffs then one hitting me. Ow!

I don't have all his attack names at the moment but at any rate...
Recovers 900 HP - Requires Head
Nullifies physical attacks for one turn - Requires Head
Removes all buffs on the party - Requires Head
Powerful physical attack on the party - Requires Legs
Attacks multiple times - Requires Arms
Instantly kills a character and gains HP equal to the amount they had - Requires Head
Removes all binds - Can be used whenever he wants
He often uses his party wide physical attack after removing your buffs. Its a very good idea to 1st Turn your Immunize user to reduce the amount of damage you take.
Binds are very effective on him too. Having a Hexer or a whip using DH can help. Since if he's bound he may waste turns to remove all the binds he's been inflicted with.

I've only played EOII, but it sat around with me on floor 3 for almost a year before I picked it up again and beat it. EOIII is currently being neglected too. Too busy.

I'm currently mapping floors B27/B28, and so far I really don't see what all the post-game hype was about. Battles are still easy; I just use skills instead of regular attacks, heal (combination of Immunize, Salve [only needed in very specific situations], Healing and Relaxing) when necessary and if I get petrified use a Theriaca B.
The only battle that lasts more than 1 turn (or very rarely 2) is Iron Crabs, but they still only survive 2-4 turns, not to mention with Immunize active nothing can even touch me.
I'm just hoping that the last couple of floors are a lot harder (like the very start of the game, where you get raped after a couple of fights and have to scamper back to town on the brink of death, or to a lesser extent, the transition to the second stratum).
Mapping-wise the 26th floor was just a pretty simplistic warping puzzle (although I will admit that it did suprise me just how many warps there were, and I had to change my technique for mapping the passages middway because I hit the icon limit). B27F/B28F don't seem to be any harder (in terms of battles, they are actually easier), it's probably just going to take me a while to map all these pitfalls (particularly because most of the little gaming time I get now is being put into Draglade, which I have just put down for the first time since I bought it on Friday). Long and boring yes, but hard? No.
As a side note, I found the B25F boss easy. I only had to heal 2-3 times in the whole fight (which also lasted a lot shorter time than I had hoped for). As was mentioned above, I'd 1st Turn Immunize then just have your Medic use Cadaceus until he debuffs you (1st Turn Immunize again) or you need to heal (Salve/Salve II, whichever you have).

It's the easiest if only for the fact you can counteract Howling with Bravery; the game was silly and coded it to be -ATK Confusion debuff all rolled into one ... so it merely removes a +ATK buff like Bravery (or a +ATK buff overwrites it etc. ... basically, always keep Bravery up). Since that's his only real big trick, the fight isn't so bad from there on out.
As for Searing ignoring Antifire ... you're probably doing something wrong. I can't think of any reason for an appropriately leveled Antifire to not work. So, what level are your Anti skills at? If I recall, higher than 5 on them makes them Absorb which means they no longer null side effects (i.e., Drake's Instant Death) but I don't think that's really relevant for Wyrm.
Though ... they're not really 100% necessary if you gear right and Boost Immunize always but Anti spam is just so much simpler.
