...Huh. I've never really thought about how to pronounce it, before. To make things worse, your ca-douche-ious was my first instinct. Kuh-doos-us? Kah-dew-si-us?

Ca-doo-SEE-us I think.

Kimiko's way is correct as is

ca-doo-shus

It's all about the e: caduc[e]us. Either you are pronouncing it with a loud "E" sound, or you are turning it into an H to create a "sh" sound. But you can't do both to the poor E... he's confused enough. I've even heard of some sources turning the poor E into a Y.

.. I didn't pop in here, though to revive this silly conversation, though. ^_^ I've picked the game back up after I had put it down and am now progressing forward again. Fenrir is now dead and I'm now on Stratum 2.

... I'm actually debating if I want to trade out my Alchemist for a Troubador, but I'm afraid I would hate a Troubador in my party, but I know how incredibly useful they are to some post game bosses... ......

Huh. I thought it was caw-duh-cus.

PS: Troubadors are amazing. Why did no one tell me their buffs last the entire battle?

Nope! Also I'm pretty sure it's 5 turns, not 4.

I also recommend the Troubadour (equip him/her with a bow to deal extra damage), not only for the post-game bosses :)

Its not that good... you're often better off using Bravery even against random mobs tbh =/

Their best skills are Bravery (Damage boost WOOOOOO!!!1), Relaxing (TP regeneration), and Erasure (For post-game). After that you're free to whatever you want. Shelter and Stamina can be useful to increase the party's overall bulk, while Healing can be used to ease up on healing. Divinity is a very useful skill but at max level it'll be taking up skill points that are better spent elsewhere.

Even if their damage was decent, I'd still suggest using Bravery in regular battles. It's a 40% damage bonus at level 10, and it's fast enough at that level to go before pretty much everyone else.

*nods* Ok. So I've got a pretty good handle on my knowledge then from just going down the list. I'm still torn about using him in my team. He's still -10 Levels so the speed thing is a bit of an issue. I would like for him to go first, but he's not quite there yet so I lose that one turn where Bravery would be useful. Still... I'm tired of using my Alchemist. I need a change and I don't feel like going back during post game just to focus on leveling up a Trabadour enough so he's actually useful where I need him.

Leveling a Troub up is totally worth it.

My all-time favorite party was a Dark Hunter/Landschneckt on the front, with a Troub/Surv/Medic on the back. Well, the medic STARTED in the back, but went combat medic partways through and moved up front.

Troub made it soooo nice. The L would 1shot most encounters, and anything with elemental weaknesses/resistance to physical would get autoattacked to death after the Troub buffed my front-row with the elemental songs. TP was never an issue because immunize+relaxing on weak mobs let you pretty much take a rest at any time after getting points in them.

Never liked the Alchemist... Protector was almost as good as the Dark Hunter... Never bothered with the Ronin because of stances, and Hexer always seemed mediocre because why debuff enemies if I could kill them all in a round or two?

Decided against Troubador after deciding it was too late in the game to introduce him to the party, and also I remembered that I wanted to try my Landsknecht's chasing skills. And personally I LOVE alchemists.

Though right now after getting Allslash and my then Multihit for my Survivalist... I SMEARED Cernunos. o_o .... 6 turns he was done. It was seriously... no competition... I never thought I would describe a boss fight as EASY in Etrian Odyssey. My god that was EASY.

*sigh* I just wish I had more time during the day to dedicate to the game. I'm playing it in half hour snatches T-T *sigh*

That reminds me. I managed to get the 3rd Stratum boss's special drop on accident the first try. Still no idea what the requirement for it was. =D
