Fifth stratum
I loved the snow of the third stratum. The fourth was also quite pretty, but in addition had great music. Now in the fifth, the music is sort of okay, but the environment is just butt-ugly. Even EO1's fifth stratum looked heaps better than this sickly bright yellow. Well, I suppose I should be glad it isn't dark like EO1's sixth stratum; that was worse.
The last of my party reached level 70 at floor 22, so now I only have to fight for item drops anymore. Which is annoying, because the critters often refuse to drop anything. No one has Scavenge, and LUC Up was less important than other stats.
The boss fight on floor 20 was quite easy at level 68 (much easier than the one on floor 15 at level 60), but I'd like to continue leveling up now.
Even with lots of points in VIT Up and AGI Up, the monsters still do a lot of damage, which wears on the War Magus's TP. The gels are very annoying, because their Fluid makes about 2 out of 3 strikes miss. The Gunner can kill them with an elemental shot, but that means she wears out her TP quickly. I hate level caps. I'm not going to retire and lose lots of levels only to gain one measly level in the end. Too much work for too little gain. I really hope they remove the level caps in EO3.
Oh, and the equipment is freaking expensive. Seriously, one item gathering trip nets about 2-3K en, and even the cheaper pieces of armor are already over 6K. That's just not fair.
All in all I'm not enjoying the fifth stratum as much as the rest of the game so far

Yeah I've been having trouble focusing in the Fifth Stratum. I only disliked one floor of it completely due to a "certain feature". Although I took a little break from EOII, cause something about it just burnt me out for a bit.
"I feel my blood rushing through my body. Yes, this is it, the feeling, it's coming back to me! The sensation of killing! The doom and darkness... The dark streets, they're calling me. Calling me to the ultimate ring!"
Uhm, now what? I tried to get past Colossus, and lost utterly. Like use up nearly all TP and the majority of my recovery items and still lost. Everyone is at level 70 and has the best equipment available. So, is there a trick to it, or am I stuck at this point?
Wow I feel dumb I was sitting here going, "So yeah ... group is what now?" Then I scrolled down and ... well, yeah >>.
Floor 23
Your best bet is to probably get Phys. Mists to cut down his damage and exploit the fact he has pretty terrible Elemental Resists. Physical attacks are all but worthless so Ifrit / Ymir / Taranis with either Alchemist + Troubadour / Oil Imbued Weapons + L Chasing should be enough to down him in a few turns.
For the second group, ... dunno, to be honest. It lacks Offense and Defense in general so I can't see much for it outside of DH -> Dominate and then hoping to kill him before he gets unbound.

Tried Phys Mists. Got wiped out even quicker. They seem to be less effective than the Troubadour's Shelter anyway.
I've now Rested my whole party to reassign their skills. It doesn't make much of a difference, but maybe a few more points in useful skills will help.
This stupid level cap is starting to hurt my enjoyment of the game. And only two floors before the end too
They're actually about the same effect (~30% damage reduction), to the Phys Mist may be inferior to the Cut/Bash/Stab ones. They do stack with Shelter, however, so there's no reason to not use both.
I'll see if I can dig up his damage types and maybe something resembling an attack roation; my fights were pretty fast with him with my group (~50s and 2-3 turns >>) so I don't really know off-hand any of his attacks.
Floor 23 boss
Reached level 70 again after resting. Tried Colossus again (even brought some Axcelas to get a force skill). Still got beaten up. *sigh* I guess I have no choice but to retire a couple of times..
Also, where can I find the third item needed for Wilhelm's 'ultimate' gun? I have a Small Bone and a 100 Shell. The third is uh, some Fin (Dorsal?), but I don't think I've seen a FOE that would drop something like that.

The Fin is a drop from Voltkings on the 4th Stratum, actually.
As for Colossus, to be honest, your group is pretty squishy (and yet, lack damage at the same time); multiple Retires isn't going to help you a lot unless you go waaaay overboard and get deep into the 80s. For example, you can merely sub a Protector over the Survivalist and gain Damage and Survivability, especially for a Physical intensive fight like Colossus.
Besides that, I can't think of much for Colossus; if you can't Dampen, you need to exploit his lower Elemental resists ... but Gunner shots, even fueled by Ifrit / Ymir / Taranis isn't going to be much damage ... well, rather, not enough to damage to down him before he probably kills people.
As for attack types, I didn't find much ad I haven't had the time to do in-game testing. I do know he has two Head based moves and a Leg one but I believe he can still attack when fully bound with one (and maybe his counter, too?).
