Because they're not actually "together" with the viewers.

Why it's on the pajama party part, I don't "know."

Edit: Speaking of iM@S, Madoka got one of these for the ending. Here's the Yomiuri Shinbun ads for iM@S:

Looks like it capped at nearly 140k something viewers.

Edit: Oh hey, Usagi Drop, iM@S and Penguindrum air(ed) today don't they, huh.

Edit: To fix the stretching of the page.

Edit: Now that I can actually sit down and listen to these...

...

I may drop No.6 based off that atrocious song in the OP :/

The Warner brothers, Wacko and Jacko, and the Warner sister, Dot? .. is what went through my mind when I watched that PenguDrum OP.

I'll be honest, I expected the angst over her condition [hide]to be dragged out over the course of the season, not the first 8 minutes where she dies as part of the intro, basically.[/hide] It's not dripping with symbolism around every corner like Utena but it otherwise retains an Utena vibe. So, basically feels like an Ikuhara title.

Though, replace yuri with incest, I suppose.

Anyway, it's the standout of the season (thus far) for sound and I quite like the art direction. Animation had an off feeling but I may have just been tired when I was watching it I dunno. I'll rewatch after work and see if I just dumbeddd through it.

Also, points for reminding me of Tsubaki (BlazBlue) but with a penguin and black suit instead of creepy-eye and "I STEAL YOUR SIGHT" weapon.

I'd like to take the time to say that Penguindrum's transformation sequence is like a million different kinds of ridiculous.
Actually ... that entire scene is a million different kinds of ridiculous. I'm out meta-ing myself every step trying to pick apart symbolism. Damn you, Ikuhara. Damn you.
Also, iDOLM@STER indeed is the big budget show of the season it feels like. High production values, well animated, etc. Only real complaint so far is uh ... the silent narrator. But that is to be expected, I suppose. Does make it hard to look away from the screen :/ [hide]'course, he ... speaks at the end so it's just for this episode to mimic the games.[/hide]
One can make the argument for them all being characterizations of tropes as being a negative ... but that's kind of the point.
Edit: No.6 is apparently the yaoi show of the season. Some heavy brolust going on in here.

Watched episode 15 of Tiger & Bunny. Oh man, the episode felt a little too quick, but that ending and stinger.

So jumping into the season headfirst and basically watching everything so quick recap/blogITL:

Penguindrum 1 - Ikuhara being Ikuhara. The pacing is a bit fast and the cuts make it feel disjointed but I suppose it is for the illusion of it being a day in the life of the family. The imagery is fantastical, there's probably some trolling (apples can't be that simple), and it is dripping in symbolish that I hope anyone who picks up the show doesn't miss.

Edit: Look, you should watch it for the transformation scene alone.

Example: Minor episode 1 spoiler. If you read this without seeing the episode, I ruined the 8 minute surprise. Sorry.

The iDOLM@STER 1 - production values I am drowning in it. I know nothing about the games short of it's why Miura releases half a Berserk chapter a year. And some catchy music (don't judge me fff UNITY MIND). The mockumentary style works so well for introducing the huge cast (12 idols, manager, assistant) and the girls are all cute in their own, special ways (oh god that doll, oh god that fang, ohgod). They're all basically some stereotype but, whatever, it works for the style. It's intriguing, production values I am drowning in them, and I'm expecting catchy music.

Edit:

No.6 1 - brolust. I literally remember nothing else since it was this boring and bland of a first episode. There's just some heavy, heavy, heavy brolust.

Mayo Chiki 1 - My guilty pleasure show of the season, probably. I mean, it's not bad, really, but it's rather low brow and typical harem. Filled with fetishes. Dear lord I am drowning in them, most likely. Cross-dressing, tsundere, S&M, cat ears, glasses, incest probably, whatever dead-eye girl is going to end up being, and fear of girls because why not throw it in there to have a crass "Y U LIKE DUDES??" gag.

Still, it's interesting and I have to have my tsundere romance comedy like once per season or I cannot go on with my life.

Actually, one thing of note. How exactly do you fall on someone hard enough to literally strip them of their ? Like, that's some heavy reaching there man.

Blood-C 1 - CLAMP being CLAMP. Everyone is so tall and lanky, especially in group shots. And then normal otherwise. wat. Nana Mizuki (Saya) could get me to probably watch anything so I'll stick it through for that alone probably. I dunno. I never gave prior Blood stuff a real try so I'm going to stick to Blood-C through to the end most likely, much to the chagrin of Blood fans (...do they exist?). Stylish, I like the Saya design (wish her hair was down but whatever), and I'm expecting some tragedy out of this to balance out what else I'm watching (c'mon, CLAMP, kill off half the cast c'mon).

Shit, the dad at least. I give him until episode 4.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisee 1- wondersofjapan.jpg See, when I went into this, I didn't think Yune was quite so young. I mean, I thought she would be like a teenage girl, not like 7 years old. This makes Oscar all that much creepier than I thought. Plus, there's the whole disconnect of language (JAPANESE EVERYWHERE). I'll watch a few more to see how it develops as a nice slow-paced slice of life type show.

Still need to get around to YuruYuri (parodies?), R-15 (though it's censored like whoa), Sacred Seven (something 'bout dem rocks?), and Usagi Drop (Aishiteruze Baby with a better budget).

Edit: Forgot about Kamisama dolls, which I thought was some cutesy show at first and now I realize it is the horror/thriller/shit gonna die show of the season. There's also Dantalion and lolbooks and Kami-sama no Memo-chou of JC Staff gonna troll. Also, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-usagi because I hate myself.

I know literally nothing about Hanasaku Iroha so god knows if this is a spoiler. I'm assuming no.

It single-handedly moved HanaIro to "alright, watching this next" status.
