Personally, I find a lot of serieses I want to watch either from reading Box's new offers or by spending an eternity at TVTropes and liking the sound of some of them based off of the tropes ... though it does kind of color my view on the series early on (i.e., reading that a show has "Kill Them All" and "High Octane Nightmare Fuel" kind of makes me expect ... well ... EVERYONE TO DIE AND IT TO BE CREEPY).

Action and Shounen are two different things. I'd wager you more dislike shounen serieseseseseses than action in general.

You're probably right. I can stand SOME stuff. Like, I enjoyed Shana's first season, but mostly 'cause I felt like it was making fun of the genre (we've had this discussion before, though, so we don't need to get back into it - I know your sentiments).

I also enjoyed Naruto and watched it before it got licensed. Even Fullmetal Alchemist had an awesome manga (didn't care for the anime a whole lot, though). I just feel they get stupid REALLY fast.

Personally, I prefer to read shounen (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc.) just because things get dragged out way too long. Action shows I can watch; Black Lagoon, Shakugan no Shana, Toaru no Majutsu Index, etc. all have their action moments but they're not the core focus. The plot moves not via the fights themselves.
