Besure to loot them bodys Noodles!
So, about posting those maid rpg games, i'll probably post them either today or tommorow, because I had to edit it, twice. First I got rid of the real names, then when I asked them, they said they didn't care, mostly because they're just friends of my pen/e-mail buddy in japan, so, that'll take forever.

Re: PnP RPG Thread
I'm preparing to DM my first adventure! I'm running a mini-quest for the group.
It's taking forever to make the enemies for them to fight, though. I have to make a level 12 fighter, a level 10 ranger with an animal companion, and a level 8 magus, plus a level 8 sorceress. I almost wish they were just fighting random monsters out of the beastiary but nooooo I had to go and put a lot of thought into things and make enemies with personality and motive. The quest involves a young girl named Alice who seems to have been kidnapped, but the PCs will discover she's in love with the bandit king, Robert (the fighter).
They're under strict instructions not to harm Alice and bring her back safely and willingly, so I've created 4 possible endings based on decisions the PCs take.
If they ignore instructions and kill everyone, including Alice... well, I'm hoping they show the foresight not to kill Alice, because I really can't do anything too punishing, but I'm thinking they must forfeit all the gear they took off the dead bodies, and Alice's father, who is a rich, powerful merchant, demands retribution from Deneb, the head of the magic academy. I might empty the kingdom's treasury as punishment. Or kill the PCs.
If they rough Alice up, ie, they knock her unconscious rather than convince her not to fight them, or attack her at all, and then kill Robert when she still think she's he is a noble Robin Hood-like bandit, Alice is heartbroken and furious. They get no reward other than the minor goods they can take off the bandits' dead bodies, and Deneb has to take money from the PCs to appease Alice's father.
The PCs have opportunities to discover Robert's evil deeds, and they can use this information to convince Alice that he isn't in love with her, but only wanting to use her. Basically I want them to role-play out some dialogue rather than dive directly into combat with all guns blazing, even when Alice and the bandits attack them. If they do this, than Alice will switch sides during the battle and assist them instead. Her spell list is full of buffs and illusion magic, so fighting the bandits with Alice will be very difficult, but fighting the bandits without Alice will be much easier. She'll beg them not to hurt Robert, even if he is evil, because she loves him. If the PCs do not kill Robert in front of Alice, but rather take him prisoner, than Alice will reward them with a piece of her jewelry and one of her magic items. Her father will also give the PCs money as a reward for finding her. They also get the minor items off the other bandits.
If they kill Robert in front of Alice, even when she knows he's evil, Alice won't give them anything and her father will them a very small reward. They'll still get the items off the bandits, though.
I'm looking forward to it :3

Re: PnP RPG Thread
Wow Kino, that sounds like a really cool creative game you have there.
I wanna play.
If my regular group played this, they would probably kill everyone including Alice, then go to the father and try to kill everyone, then run off with the treasure.
Thats why I play maid rpg with my japan buddys.
Edit: I found the maid rpg thread, but its by Seniwac, replying would make me feel dirty.

Re: PnP RPG Thread
Thanks! I'm going to write out some dialogue trees and flesh out the personalities of the different people they'll talk to, like Alice's friends at the academy, and villagers near the bandit's hideout. I plan to throw a lot of dialogue into battle, too, so try and break up the combat and give the PCs a lot of time to interact with the enemies and make crucial decisions regarding Alice.
I'm also afraid my group is just going to go in swinging. I've specifically instructed them which characters to bring, and let my husband know there's multiple endings and that they need to use their Diplomacy, Perception, Sense Motive and Bluff skills. We're playing next on Labor Day, so I better get busy :3

Just remember Kino, the only thing you can expect from pc's is the unexpected.
...but seriously, I want to play, my pnp rpg senses are tingling.

Re: PnP RPG Thread
I just started playing DnD this week. I ended up as a Chaotic Neutral halfling Beguiler, playing alongside a dragonkin Paladin, an angel-blooded Druid, and gnome cleric.
Let's see...
The druid has been skinning every human we kill to make rations for his wolf, the paladin keeps dropping things by accident, and the cleric has landed exactly one hit, which was a coup de grace against an unconcious man.
Personally, I'm been pinching all the silver, a few healing potions, a fancy cape, and tried to sneak 20 plats. I then persuaded the Paladin that I wasn't actually stealing them with a natural 20 in diplomacy. Also, I've nearly shot my allies several times during fights because I didn't want to take accuracy penalties for aiming around them.

In case of implosion, look directly at implosion.

Re: PnP RPG Thread
My experience is that players will always do what you would rather they don't. My method these days is to avoid planned dialogue (I'm a pretty good improviser) and setup about 3 or 4 possible routes, with a good degree in flexibility in how they might occur. The players might avoid going into the catacombs by way of the route within the city, but I'll be damned if they can turn down the one in the middle of the jungle! Transporting encounters and scenarios is pretty easy, so don't feel like all is lost if they manage to avoid all of your plans.
Also the Gold Standard for successful DM'ing D&D is the diceless session. If you can get through a whole session without having to break out the dice and the players are all engaged and interested the entire time, you're doing something right.

Re: PnP RPG Thread
So, I made a friend who offered to teach me how to play D&D and convinced my roomie to join in on the fun as well. So, here is all I know about my character so far:
Human Ranger
Dual Weilding (Long + Short Sword)
Light Armor
Working up to Level 11 and then becoming Wolflord (I looked at the skills and I get all I really need by level 11).
My roommate's playing a half-orc barbarian and I don't know his plans. The guy teaching us is going to DM and play as we need a healer, so he'll be a dwarven Cleric. xP If we get more players, he might ask someone else to DM.

Re: PnP RPG Thread
The Fighter I created does two-weapon fighting, but his primary weapon is his shield. His strategy is to shield-bash opponents with a free bullrush attempt back 5-10 feet, and then when they use a five-foot step to re-engage melee he uses the feats Step Up with Step Up and Strike to gain a free attack of opportunity -- and I had him take Combat Expertise, so he gets multiple attacks of opportunity. Muahahaahaaaaaaaa
