what another forum I use has is a little rep thing on each post, like a + and -, so when people like a post they can +1 it to give it a higher score, which all affects the user's total rep. On the main page it has a list of the highest rated posts if you ever want to go back and see something funny or moving.

T-T And that is exactly why I don't think something like that would be a good idea.
Because while the "like" thing is maybe a good idea, there's always the adverse.
To have every bad thing that I ever said ALWAYS following me around. Sometimes it's good to let people forget that some things were said. That some arguments happened, yes, but let bygones be bygones.
