The name "Outsethero" is a reference to Link from The Wind Waker. The island in which he's born in is called Outset Island, hence the name "Outset Hero". ^^

I hope you get your hands on an EO game and enjoy it! I'm one of the few that didn't care that much for EO3. But I think every game is so unique that if you don't like one don't give up, you might find that you like another.

The games are "loosely" connected so do not be afraid of getting one without having played another. It's like Zelda in that sense.

Yeah, I knew about the "loose connection" already! The reason I was mainly focusing on EOU or EO4 was because of the former being the remake/reimagining of the first one and the latter being the latest numerical release. I didn't have any plans for EO2 because of EOU2 being a thing, so I'd rather wait for that, and I had not given much thought to EO3.

I went with EO3 because I managed to find someone with a copy in excellent condition and with the first print's Class Skill Chart/Poster thing! I also wanted to try starting off with a DS one, both because I would like to experience that first before playing in the new 3DS' engine and because I also wanted to experience the Orange Fluff FOEs. Since I know that's no longer a thing in the 3DS ones. xD;

So yeah. this is a thing. I wanna say i'm back, but thats a bit dependant on my extremely unstable mood as of late. I've been kind of avoiding any sort of interaction with anyone and everyone the past like 2-3 months due to reasons i'd rather not disclose.

however, I'll try to remember here is a thing, and with any luck, some interactions with my ol' ItL friends can help me shake some of this off

Ooh, introduction thread. Well, it's been a while since I made one of these posts.

I got into Etrian from the third game, then tried out some Heroes of Lagaard but didn't quite get the same instant love I got from III.

Either case, currently making my way through IV, though I have too much other stuff to do these days, so it's kinda slow.

As for my personal introduction, I'm a programming uni student from Sweden, 21. I can be found over at if you like that stuff.

Not as much as I liked III, but yes. I was one of 19 people in my country to get the game on release day, due to a miss on the shipping order. The entire country only got 19 boxes. Amazing.
