Maybe this should be in the confession thread instead, but ... I don't "get" Bob Dylan. It would be fine to say he's simply not my taste in music, but there seems to be some sort of consensus in pop culture that he's one of those musical geniuses that it makes me feel dumb sometimes for not getting why he's so goddamned revered. It's like staring at some piece of abstract art that everyone around me has pretensions of deep intellectual understanding and appreciation for, and I'm just sitting there wondering what the fuck I'm missing.
Am I simply not sophisticated enough to understand his towering genius, or what?
(btw, it's not just Dylan I have this problem with. There are other popular late 20th century musicians that I don't get.)

Kimiko, I agree entirely on your analysis of Bond's third album. I actually think their debut album is my favorite (Victory FTW) but Big Love Adagio from the second album is fantastic.
The more they insert remix/electronica influences the less I like. Which is strange I know since that is their whole gig, but there you are.
(And I, too, do not care for Bob Dylan. However, I am full of love for the Beatles... I really want to get Beatles Rock Band.

Everything pre-Nowhere Man is banal and silly pop about love, incidentally, and while they certainly have an influence they are nothing compared to their later works, including the entire Sgt Peppers album. Sgt Peppers utterly changed the face of music forever; some have even cited it with changing Western civilization.
Just check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatle ... technology
They utterly revolutionized the way people thought about putting music together. Breaking it down to just the technical level, it's undeniable what a pioneering force they were.
