I'm ALMOST done with Blood of the Fold. I intend to spend most of the day reading it so I'll either be done with it tonight or tomorrow or maybe Monday if life doesn't go well.
Not too many spectacular events in this one so far, it really just seems to be setting the stage for OH SHIT IS GOING DOWN SOON. Berdine, Cara, and Raina are my three new fave characters - particularly Berdine after what she went through with that disgusting spell.

o_O A mriswith saved Richard. Wth?! I is intrigued. Why does Richard seem to constantly befriend these strange creatures XD. First a Confessor (sorry, I must include Kahlan since she seems to always count herself as a strange creature of magic), then a Dragon, then a Gar, now maybe a Mriswith? WILL SOMEONE GET RICHARD A DOG AND CALL IT A DAY?!

<3 Verna, how I love you. To think that only a book ago I couldn't stand you. BTW, I saw that thing with Ann and Nathan from a mile away. It seemed WAY too neat.
LATE LATE BOOK SPOILER - DON'T READ - THIS IS MOSTLY FOR KINO:
Berdine swallowed, "Because of the things you have done for us, for me, I wish to confess."
Richard made a face. "Confess? Telling me who you're in love with isn't a confession, it's -"
"Raina."

.... KINO, YOU BITCH!! HOW DARE YOU HIDE THIS FROM ME!! :O

... BerdinexRaina..... o_o ......

T-T Somehow, you are still my favorite character, Berdine. .... Well, no, in all seriousness, listening to her talk about how Darken Rahl treated them, >_< I love the two of them that much more.

Dammit, Goodkind! Stop shocking me like this!!! .... DAMMIT, THIS IS WHY HIS BOOKS ARE SO GOOD!! You never know what is going to happen in the next chapter.

Shit, it took me about two minutes to recover enough from that to continue reading. And Richard handles it exceptionally well. Damn, I wish I could be that smooth when explaining myself to others.
OH DEAR GOD YES YOU ARE FINALLY IN THE GOOD SHIT
That is to say, the Mord-Sith. MORD-SITH!!!! RRRAAAAAR! YES! CARA! YES! *dances around* Also, Berdine <33 love Berdine.

I'll let you get further into it. My memories of Blood of the Fold are sketchy at best. Ulric and Egan (I believe that is their names?) also get some love. I absolutely adore D'Haran and Richard as Lord Rahl -- the way the Mord-Sith treat him especially. They're like "You tried to free us? Fuck you. We're going to protect the shit out of you. You have been warned"

And I didn't spoil the Berdine/Raina because it was all I could do to not dump out massive amounts of spoilers for the Mord-Sith. <33333

Forgot that Cara doesn't get much love in BotF, does she? It's all about Berdine... Not that I'm complaining.
Also, finished reading the Iliad.

And still re-reading the Monette books. Need to get off my lazy ass and ship Melusine to a certain Maxine so that she can understand what the hell I'm so obsesesed with. See more in other topics.

KKINO I FUKKIN LOVE YOU MAN

Yes, yes I wish you would ship out Melusine for me ^_^

@Sword of Truth series:

Finished BotF! Have started reading TotW:
I'm only a little ways in. Just to the part where we have met this Nadine and she has told Kahlan that a woman named Shota has told her that she is to be Richard's wife.

GODDAMMIT, WILL SOMEONE MARRY THESE TWO!! >_<

:O The end of BotF was so GOOD, though. Definitely one of the best endings to date. And probably to top it all off was the last chapter in which Zed reveals that all along he could remove that collar. <_< What the hell are you playing at Zed?

:3 Cara is finally starting to get some love in this book. I hope it keeps track of all three of them like this. I really love all of the Mord-Sith - especially the way they tease Richard and now Kahlan. <3
I just finished reading The Wild Duck, a play by Henrik Ibsen, for my lit class.

God, the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. >__>

So, anyway, does anyone know any good detective stories besides Holmes? Or something that's noir-like. I'm not too fond of modern mystery novels.

Sword of Truth:

I LOVE it mainly because of the characters. And after the first book the adventures are just a little bit different than normal. But more than anything I love that it is a little psychological. The Wizard's Rules, for example, and other stuff. XD I love the mind-fuck!

<3 And I just love Richard and Kahlan so much.

First book I'm reading in about two years: Sparkling Rain, and other fiction from Japan of women who love women. The introductions give a nice historical overview of lesbian activism and literature.

I can really procrastinate when it comes to reading. I read The Mammoth Hunters more than a year ago, but I still have yet to read The Plains of Passage (And it's not like I can't buy it; it's sitting on a shelf next to its prequel). It's a shame, since the series is good.
