Like seriously, why do you think he never shows up at anybodies house? Its because he doesn't like handing coal to EVERYBODY.

This allows us to use the word "Fucking" for effect, or to intensify something, if we just used its static definition, we would be talking about somebody having sex with another person.

As for people taking offense to it: Why not? People will take offense to the pettiest things, you could say we have a fetish for being offended. We like to GET MAD! and to BURN PEOPLES HOUSE DOWN! WITH THE LEMONS!

Being offended is not a choice: Its a reaction. Something you do in response to something else. Its immediate, and its involuntary. Hence, not a choice.

To consider something offensive is a choice, but not an IMPORTANT one. They have no reason to change it, because there is NO BENEFIT WHATSOEVER to do so. Once they have made that choice, its typically set in stone and hard to change. That's just how people are.

You want people to change their minds, you have to prove to them that its worth changing. And I wish you the best of luck with that.

This thread has been on this for a while now, and I'd like it to return to being the "Random Video/Youtube thread!", now that we're done ripping at each others skulls.

We do have a forum section for this kind of stuff (The Debate and Serious Topics section), and next time somebody wants to bring something controversial to this thread see if we can't redirect them there if at all possible.

I was expecting garrett to move it to that subforum when it became a full blown debate, considering he's a mod now and can do that kind of thing. and I saw no skulls being ripped, just people with different viewpoints who aren't quite persuasive enough to change each other's opinions.

Anyway, I'm too lazy to link it right now because I'm on my phone, but the "What the eff?!" David Blaine street magic spoof videos still crack me up. Just rewatched them yesterday.

just throwing it out there that use of the word faggot as a descriptor of a person, positive or negative, is not allowed on ItL, as has been the case since the last time the forum had a huge debate about the word

this rule is of course subject to change if anyone can come with a valid reason for why they want to use it. i've never seen one
