That "pop up" displays essentially the same information as the old status bar. The only difference is that it saves space by hiding itself when there would have been nothing showing in the old status bar anyway.
I suppose it really just boils down to what you're used to....

And whether you like that thing popping up and down all the time. I found it super annoying and restored the status bar right away. And moved the tabs back to where they belong, and the menu bar, etc. etc. Don't mess with my browser thankyouverymuch.

Ted Danson is an actor. He's most famous for playing Sam Malone on Cheers, an extremely popular sitcom that was on TV for ten years or so starting in the early 80s. He's been on TV since, of course, and is currently on an HBO show called Bored to Death. He's an ocean advocate and was doing a book signing at my store for his new book, Oceana, which is about ocean activism. It's a pretty neat book. The co-author lives in my neighborhood and is friends with my boss, so that's how we were able to get him to come here to do the signing.
I got to shake his hand and introduce myself and everything. He even complimented my socks. :3

I like the new placement of the tabs, essentially because the bookmark toolbar has a very nice little gray border. It's nice for personas since in the past my persona themes have clashed AWFULLY with ItL. And now there's something to seperate them. And, I dunno, but the tab bar now looks... classy. :3 I also like the app-pin. ItL, hotmail, and twitter are now pinned. <3

I hated FF4 so much I un-installed it and re-installed the old version.
The final straw was the new tab button placement and that clicking in the empty space next to your tabs simply maximized the window rather than opening a new tab. Also the "new link/new window" options were flipped. And I didn't like the status bar since I use several add-ons. And not all my add-ons worked with the new version.
