What are you watching? (TV/Movies)

Re: What are you watching? (TV/Movies)
I disliked Ultimate, and hated it more because they cancelled Spectacular for it. However, I talked to the creator this weekend at a con and he explained how even though he loved a show aimed at older people, Marvel designed the show to be aimed towards kids again because they were worried that younger kids wouldn't grow up loving Spider-Man. This makes perfect sense to me and now I am at peace with the show.
I liked World War Z more that I ever thought I would. It was 90% relief that the zombies were crawling over each other in a frenzy instead of making giant-zombie shapes like I thought they were in the trailer, and 10% this movie is pretty entertaining.

The new Nova comic is awesome from what I've read.

To be fair, I think I've liked Iron Man 3 the most. Not saying it's a masterpiece or anything, but I've enjoyed it way more than the first two.

Last night my sister and I watched Sinister. Let's just say the title was very fitting. I don't watch horror films too often, but that was a pretty darn good one.

^I don't think you need to watch other stuff first. The Coen's were among the new generation of directors in the 90's who were noted cinephiles, so their work is highly referential, but you don't need to have a diverse knowledge of cinema to appreciate them. I would say that their movies are made in a certain way which feels more normal if you've seen their other films.
I could provide an objective analysis of the film, but I don't have the time to do so at the moment. Maybe next weekend?

I didn't quite "get" Fargo, either. One of my friends tried to explain it to me, but I was like a deer in the headlights. *blink, blink... move on.
I watched Insidious, last night. Slow at the beginning, but certainly has some good moments, in the latter half.

Yes, I'm the one person who actually liked FF XIII.

I haven't watched The NeverEnding Story in many, many years. Probably more than 15 years. It's on the TV at the moment and I forgot how sad and brutal it is... dead horses, sphinxes thay murder people and just generally the foreboding nature of the entire film.
It's dated fairly well too.

I hate The Neverending Story on account of being required to read it in German for a German course.

Second Ghibli movie aired on TV, after Princess Mononoke (which I really liked), I'm watching Porco Rosso

I've rewatched Zack Snyder's remake of Dawn of the Dead and I think it might be growing on me.

Watched a bunch of the original Star Trek, then Wrath of Khan, then started marathoning TNG. I liked season 1, but, the increase in quality once Riker grows the beard is noticeable. It's a lot more focused now and the crew feels more like a family (though I know Dr. Crusher comes back, and RIP Yar...)
Re: What are you watching? (TV/Movies)
It's a documentary on Noodle's life or something idk
