I can't help but feel I should be further along. I've gotten past the awkward beginning and made myself familiar with certain details and the characters.
Still should be further along. Daaaamn.
Update:
Ending the day with 7, 128 words.
How is everyone else doing?
I'm not bothering to structure my story up into chapters at this point but rather am allowing scenes to run the appropriate length. Since I've decided to do the whole thing as Heero's narrative it works well.
Heero POV is like my new favorite thing ever.

Sampson's my hero. Just so y'all are all aware of that.
Also, please read the above line is whatever accent you deem appropriate for Oklahoma. It will likely somewhat off, but I appreciate your efforts regardless.
I guess the good thing about no internet is no distractions. I'm at 11,500 words.
Downside, of course, is a reached a point in which research was critical. I put [INSERT DESCRIPTION HERE] for places in which I did not know what to put, and will go back later to correct it.
Crack is so delicious. The mood of the story is quite serious, as opposed to humorous (since Heero is a serious narrator, and there is serious business going down). Every line of dialogue for Heero is revised at least twice to bring it down to the barest of essentials... but his narration is simply exquisite, if I say so myself, due to the care and thought in which he relays the story. Crack. Is. Delicious.
And, now, off to research space flight technology.

And now I'm WAY behind. I still haven't broken 10,000 and we're suppose to be at 20,000 today. Uggg, I'm coming home and doing nothing but WRITE WRITE WRITE!!
UGGGGGGG, WRITE WRITE WRITE WRITE!! At least I've gotten back into my story. I just kinda half-assed something together which didn't turn out too bad, actually. Now I'm moving along again into the funner stuff that I wanted to do.
^_^ God but I STILL managed to put in all of the literature scenes that I wanted: including a scene from the fight with Medusa as well as even pulling a line from Shrek XD
God I had fun with those.
