To be fair, the anime butchered a lot of the content of the Light Novels.
Not that it was stellar in the novels, mind you, but still.

J.C. Staff managed to butcher this AND Shakugan no Shana. And pretty much anything else they've worked on.
I think they're doing Kaichou wa Maid-sama! this season which makes me a little sad; it's horribly cliche (in the "didn't I see Special A already?" kind of way) but ... to be honest, I <3 Misaki. Though, I haven't actually watched much of the anime yet so who knows if it's butchered the story already.
opened in my nearest mall.
It quickly put the other book and DVD stores in that mall out of business. I don't mind, manga for $5 is alright with me. But one DVD store that was put out of business was mostly anime, and I have yet to see a store that can rival its collection.
But hey, I finally got Genshiken volume 2. None of the big bookstores were carrying Genshiken, and it's the only manga I want to buy right now. It's a breath of fresh air as far as its genre goes, at least in how realistic it is.
There's a store by my college that deals mostly with anime figurines and model kits and stuff, but I know they have Genshiken 3, and I might withdraw money from my last $50 until someone hires me to get it.
