Well, for Europeans anyway. As of today, NIS America have confirmed that Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl demo is now available in the Nintendo eShop. This means that anyone with a European Nintendo 3DS can download a demo of the game, for free, to see if they like the game and also to try and stem those cartographic urges.
In a further positive step, if you manage to get anywhere in the demo, the save file will port over to your main quest when the game is eventually released in the European territories. NIS America feel it's important for us all to note that there's over 3,000 lines of recorded dialogue and as this is a retelling of the original game, should hopefully be a good stepping stone for newer gamers into this series.
Thanks to the continued efforts by our faithful member, Wave-tan, the Etrian Odyssey IV Skills Calculator for Windows has been updated.
You can download the revised version of this application from our EOIV section here.
I've actually been putting off playing the demo 'cause I didn't want to spoil anything that might be different between full version and demo version.
I think I might just pick this up tonight a little bit because now... I CAN'T STAND IT!! MUST PLAY!!
... This video just made me drool.
PS. "Don't be jerks."
WHY ARE YOU READING THIS?! If you have a 3DS there's only one thing you should be doing. Playing the demo!
Remember, the data from the demo is transferable. So let's suck the life out of this bad boy for the next two weeks and pray that it will hold us over until October 1st.
By the way, have you remembered to pre-order yet? I have! This baby's already paid for!
Don't forget to head over to our forums. Our EOU Rantage topic is now open and ready for all your interesting tales of misadventures and forgotten warp wires. Hope to see you there!
A trailer for the classic mode version of Etrian Odyssey Untold has been released in an email to Atlus Faithfuls.
The email goes on to confirm that all original nine classes will be in the classic mode - all from the start (I hope this definitely includes Ronin and Hexer which were not available in the original until well into the third stratum).
It ALSO confirms (just in case there was a question about this) that the data from the demo will be transferable to the full game release October 1st.
Atlus USA has announced that Etrian Odyssey Untold will be appearing as a demo in the Nintendo eShop Sept. 16! That's a week away!!
Only the first few dungeons of the story mode will be playable, according to the email.
Also announced: Preorder bonuses! According to the Faithful email:
Pre-orders and the first printing of the game will include a collection of bonus items called "Etrian Untold, Unseen Unheard." These collector's items will be available from ALL retailers. The bonus set includes:
For our European fans, rejoice! The Etrian Odyssey IV Demo is slated for release in the European eShop this Thursday!
The full release is scheduled for the 30th of this month. Even if you start out playing the demo, the information can be carried over to the full game upon purchase.
The demo was playable up to 30 times in the US version, so I would assume that it's the same for you guys as well. There were also no locks on any content, so it was almost like an early release.
